A Lesson in Friendship
If you’re wondering exactly what these angry birds get up to this time around, the movie takes us through a journey all about enemies becoming ‘frenemies’. The birds and pigs must reluctantly join forces to defend themselves against an even bigger foe! (I suspect a feathered, impressive break-dancing foe).
In this movie, a new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger. Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina) and tech pig Garry (Sterling K. Brown). Together they forge an unsteady truce. But, most importantly, they form an unlikely super team to save their homes.
Amongst the angry bird fun, there’s a brilliant underlying lesson for everyone. In other words, we sneakily learn what amazing things can happen when we put our differences aside. Impossible missions become achievable ones and, if we’re lucky, new friends are made along the way. #allthefeels
In short, you can bet your last piece of buttered popcorn, this is a family movie packed with laughs from start to finish!
