Streets Issue Blue Ribbon Ice Cream Recall Due to Foreign Matter in Tubs

UNILEVER has recalled 1.25 and 2-litre Blue Ribbon ice cream tubs sold around the country due to instances of plastic pieces being found in the tub, posing an injury risk.

Those affected will have a best before date range between April 28, 2017 and April 27, 2018 and should not be eaten.

According to reports, during the production process, plastic pieces have found their way into the tubs via machinery at Unilever’s Minto factory, home to where the Blue Ribbon products are made.

This recall is a “precautionary measure” only and tubs with a best before date after April 28, 2018 are not affected.

Products can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
