Toe-tapping Acapella version of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton and Pentatonix Lights Up the Internet

As if this song wasn’t amazing enough, Parton took ‘Jolene’ to a whole new level and performed it with the acapella group Pentatonix.

With more than 8.8 million YouTube views, it’s pretty obvious that country fans, acapella fans and Dolly fans are finding this version of Jolene sung by Dolly Parton and Pentatonix majorly magical.

This isn’t the first time that Parton has paired off with another performer to sing “Jolene.” At the ACM Awards she sang it with Katy Perry. She also did a duet with Miley Cyrus (back in her Hannah Montana-esque days), getting more than 14 million YouTube views on that one.

Dolly PartonWhen Parton posted the most current version on her Facebook page, the comments flew in. One fan (named Jolene) wrote, “Dolly…because of you…my daddy fell in love and named me from your song…now I have heard it for 41 years…love this version! You do it best!” And, this Jolene wasn’t the only one. Another commenter wrote, “My dad heard this song the morning I was born on the way home from the hospital, he turned around to tell my mom because they had no girl names picked out.”

Whether it’s naming a baby, singing duets or going acapella, it’s clear that “Jolene” and (of course) Dolly have made a major impact in many people’s lives!
