This New Oricom Baby Monitor is Changing the Game for Parents the World Over

You want to make sure that your baby is sleeping safe and sound and it’s not like baby monitors are a new thing either. However Oricom are changing the game with their latest addition, the Oricom Babysense2.

So, what makes this monitor so above-the-norm (aside from its super-sleek new appearance)?

It’s Australia’s first infant respiratory monitor also registered as a medical device.

So what does that mean? Let’s say you’re finding it a challenge to stop hovering over your sleeping baby. You’ve heard all about SIDS, and are somewhat concerned, and rest assured you’re not alone. But, spending all night standing over your baby and watching her breathe just won’t do. At some point you’ll wake her, and, let’s be realistic, at some point you’ll actually want to cuddle up in your own bed and maybe, just maybe, get some sleep! 😉

But, how can you ever get to sleep if you’re constantly worried about your baby? Cue the newly released Babysense2 – along with Oricom’s Secure 710 Digital Baby Monitor.

Oricom-Babysense-2The Babysense2 takes some of the worry out of baby’s sleep-time. It connects to sensor pads which fit under baby’s mattress meaning they’ll constantly monitor your little guy or girl’s breathing.  Meaning that:

  • If your baby’s breathing goes lower than 10 breaths per minute, an alarm goes off.
  • If the monitor doesn’t detect your baby’s breathing for more than 20 seconds, the alarm also goes off.

Not only does the unit monitor your baby’s breathing movements, but coupled with the Secure 710 lets you see exactly what she’s doing.

Oricom-Babysense2But wait, it gets better.

This digital video monitor allows for multiple camera connections. Yep! No more unplugging, plugging, unplugging, plugging – okay, you get the picture. You can even put a camera in each room of the house if you want to.

And, did we mention – you can see your baby in the dark. Well, obviously unless you plan on leaving the light on in the nursery 24/7, this is a great feature thanks to the black and white infrared (that’s the see-in-the-dark) feature.

Plus, this magnificent monitor also features:

  • Room temperature sensor
  • Adjustable night light
  • Plays five soothing lullabies.

If only it could change a nappy too, but let’s face it, that’s probably asking too much.

Oricom’s Managing Director Kevin McDonnell says,

“Our monitors not only employ state of the art technology but they are robust and instinctive to use.”

He goes on to add, “Our business is built to ensure that we can look after you and your needs long after you have purchased your Baby Monitor.”

oricom-canstar-awardAs if these monitors aren’t amazing enough, add on an award! And not just any award we might add! The highly sought after Canstar Blue Award, voted by more than 1,300 parents!

What is a Canstar Blue Award?

The Canstar Blue Award award rates baby products for quality and Oricom scored five star reviews in just about every area, including clarity of sound, image quality and value for the money.

Head of Canstar Blue, Megan Doyle noted, “For baby monitors, it’s all about fulfilling the promises, which means the sound and image quality need to be perfect. Given that baby monitors are something of a luxury item, parents simply want to feel like they’re getting value for money.”

Honestly, I love everything about it! Most importantly the peace of mind that it would provide. The sensors for baby’s breathing is a stand out to me. With my first baby, going to check on him required trying to dodge squeaky floorboards to get to him without waking him. I definitely want a monitor with bub number 2! Being able to see him/her on the monitor and know that an alarm will sound if breathing stops is absolutely priceless.

It’s hard to pin-point just one favorite feature of this amazing Oricom Babysense Monitor, but I suppose the peace of mind that the sensor pads provide would help me sleep at night and give me the confidence to let other people care for my bub (without fear of them not checking if she is breathing). I am majorly paranoid so this feature would give me so many more hours of sleep each day!

After our daughter was born early and had breathing issues, i was unable to sleep when we got her home because i was too worried about her passing away until we got a snuza monitor. Now that she is a little bigger and moves a lot the snuza comes off during the night and therefore goes off. im still just as paranoid and not ready to not have no monitor for her. Apart from the monitor as a whole system, i like that it has the room temp on it too as im always worried if its too hot or cold and i like the idea of multiple cameras as she likes to be in her big brothers room but its hard to get stuff done as i have to be in there making sure he’s not picking on her or trying to pick her up!

I’d love one of these. My youngest daughter has breathing issues along with extemely large tonsils/adenoids, severe allergies to pollen/grass/nuts/eggs (so much fun with Spring just arriving & her love for sneaking food) and constantly gets croup. If she is the slightest bit unwell she has to sleep next to me so I can make sure she doesn’t stop breathing.

We’ve already had a few ambulance rides to hospital due to her breathing stopping or her throat swelling from an allergic reaction. With this monitor, I reckon I might get more than 3hrs broken sleep a night! Lol

The Oricom brand (especially the babysense2) had the most amount of positive feedback and recommendations. I couldn’t find any faults at any stage while researching. After experiencing several losses before a high risk but successful pregnancy…I’m one very very paranoid mumma!….so I love everything about the Oricom Babysense2 (it’s a guardian angel) and the fact that it will give me back some sanity…plus we just moved in to a double storey.

I can check our tiny premature newborn son without walking into our bedroom and disturbing him.
He is a light sleeper and it takes very little noise to disturb him. The room temperature sensor is also essential so you know your baby is in a room at the correct temperature.

My hubby works away, so its important for my sanity, and the ears of our baby that I don’t use profanity. The Oricom baby monitor will keep my eyes and ears on her sweet face, so that she sleeps well while I have my own time in my Mummy space.

It’s always a great safe thing to have a monitor on your baby no matter what age they are! I would love to win this as it would amazing and a great way for me not to worry so much as I can always keep an eye on my little 6month old baby boy called RJ (Ricky-Junior)! 🙂

I would love to win this fabulous camera to provide security to my growing family.
My youngest son was born with a medical condition called pulmonary atresia, where he is missing a large part of his pulmonary artery. This condition will be repaired by surgery at a later stage, and meanwhile he is under our careful watch.
This camera would allow us to monitor him at any time at home, during both night and day, and being mobile, providing the option to move it to any room of the house. Having the ability to speak to him through the camera is incredibly beneficial, and allowing us to hear him no matter where we are through the application would be fabulous. Being able to calm him when hes upset, through the speaker, is a great option. I love the fact this is a small and mobile camera with great high definition clarity- no matter where we are, we can watch him through an easy to navigate app on the phone. This would provide us with incredible reassurance with our brave little boy.

I want to be able to snuggle with my husband again!! We have been co-sleeping with baby because I’m super paranoid that something might happen but this has meant that my husband quite often sleeps in the spare room. While we get the most sleep this way, I do miss snuggling! A device like this would certainly help with this!
