Mum Central Founder & CEO Belinda Jennings walked away with Gold at this year’s AusMumpreneur Awards in Melbourne.

Belinda, mother to James (5) and Alex (3) was originally announced as Finalist in two categories; AusMumpreneur of the Year and the ‘People’s Choice’ Service Business Award back in September. Incredibly, she was also announced as Finalist in the inaugural Women in Innovation SA Awards that very same day, handing her the trifecta of three Finalist nominations in one day!

She won Gold in the Service Business Category, and picked up Bronze for the big one, AusMumpreneur of the Year. This year’s AusMumpreneur of the Year is TV presenter and Fertile Mind Founder Christine Kininmonth, inventor of the hugely popular Belly Belt. Silver went to Simone Cadell, Founder of Tiny Tutus, a preschool ballet school with over 80 studios nationwide.

“It’s really empowering to know that your ideas, innovation and determination are being recognised, and your impact and contribution as a thought leader in your space is having significant impact on those around you.” Jennings said.  “I am truly humbled at the high calibre of entrants this year, and look forward to meeting and working with many of them long after the awards are over”.

Belinda started Australian Baby Bargains after having her first child 5 years ago, and discovering the need for a free trading platform to sell baby gear her son had outgrown. From what began as a Facebook based business, the hugely popular online preloved children’s marketplace now operates nationwide. As her community grew, so did the need for Mum Central, bringing our online community of mums to over 200,000 nationally, generating strong revenue via digital advertising, and has revolutionised the way parents buy, sell and connect online.

“It’s really empowering to know that your ideas, innovation and determination are being recognised, and your impact and contribution as a thought leader in your space is having significant impact on those around you.”

“Entering the AusMumpreneur Awards was an enriching and genuine experience. The entire process allows nominees to reflect on their business experience and achievements, highlight opportunities and often celebrate the achievements that we tend to overlook in the day to day business, family and lifestyle,” Belinda said.

The 2014 St.George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards were presented during the AusMumpreneur Conference. This is the fifth year for this awards program, which celebrates mums in business who are achieving outstanding success in entrepreneurship, product development, services and innovation in businesses throughout Australia.

High five Belinda, you’ve worked hard for this and we’re right here behind you!
