These days there aren’t many families that don’t have at least a tv, computer, gaming device, mobile phone or tablet (and some have all of them!) which children readily access on a daily basis.
Screen technology is just an inescapable part of our everyday living. It’s become an important factor in how children learn, socialise and have fun. And it begins when they’re toddlers.
However, as much as it has become common practice for children to use screens daily, there are health risks when they spend excessive amounts of time in front of screens, or use devices inappropriately. For parents it’s a constant learning curve to understand how to help children stay safe and healthy as they get the most from these technologies. It is important that children develop healthy screen habits early, and have a balance of activities in their life. But how do we achieve this?
It’s a slippery slope on the road of parenthood so thank goodness Parenting SA are bringing in well-respected Parenting Speaker, columnist and TV commentator Dr Justin Coulson to guide you through the screen-time maze.  Their FREE seminar will cover:
- the pros and cons of the digital age for children 0-5 years
- how and when to introduce phones, tablets, apps, e-games
- how to manage electronic media use
Due to overwhelming demand for Parenting SA’s incredibly valuable parenting seminars, parents and carers who are unable to attend the event in person are able to register to the view the live webcast instead.
