If you haven’t been to holiday parks since your parents took you in the 80’s, be prepared to be surprised! The 2017 holiday park is a whole new world of family entertainment and facilities – you won’t believe what’s out there!

Mum Central packed the Pajero Sport, grabbed the kids, our besties and hit the road to try this family holiday experience for ourselves at Moonta Bay Caravan Park, South Australia, part of the Top Parks chain.

Here’s 9 reasons you should check out Top Parks with your family too!

Don’t worry that a quick family getaway will break the bank! A caravan or holiday park is an economical way to have the time you need without having to pull out the credit cards. Not only is it budget-friendly, Top Parks offer serious bang-for-buck with so much included for your money. Six berth cabins started at $115 per night, beach views and all!

Set on the Copper Coast Triangle of the Yorke Peninsula, the Moonta Bay Caravan Park is in a breathtaking location. With white sand, clear blue waters and miles of absolute beachfront, this is just one of the idyllic locations that holiday parks can offer. There are five-star resorts with less desirable positions than many Aussie holiday parks. Trust us, do your research and you’ll be impressed!

This beachfront location provides endless sandy beach when the tide’s out and a great jetty for fishing or getting out to stretch your legs and breathe in the sea air.

There’s nothing more exhilarating than driving a great car on the open road.  When we hit the freeway in the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport we loved every second! The kids enjoyed the ample legroom, hubby drove and I got to sit back and appreciate the creature comforts whilst controlling the music via Apple Carplay. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is pure driving heaven, because let’s face it, there’s nothing more fun than a car that’s a pleasure to drive!

Holiday parks offer a range of accommodation with something to suit every family’s needs. From comfortable cabins (like we enjoyed at Moonta Bay) to drive up powered sites if you have your own ‘van … there’s a choice to fit every family and budget!

Don’t be afraid that a holiday park is ‘roughing it’. This is a total misconception! Our Executive Cabin came with all bedding, linen and towels and a decently equipped kitchen so we could cook up a feast.

The kids were in heaven in the spa (and we won getting all the salt and sand off them from our beach adventures at the same time! #winning!

The 2 Bedroom cabin also featured a double bed, 2 singles, full size bathroom (with spa!), fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher), dining table and leather lounges.

We were also able to use the park’s numerous electric BBQs (which were meticulously clean – thumbs up!) and pretty much we ate BBQs for lunch and dinner so we were on a real winner there!

Once you start to explore a modern holiday park you’ll be completely amazed at just how much there is to do! Moonta Bay was a wealth of activity offering pedal cars and kayaks for hire, giant chess and even a weekend outdoor movie cinema.
