Health authorities are warning consumers who have purchased  the Costco Easy Cut Shoulder Ham over contamination fears, especially for pregnant women.

Consumers who have purchased the Costco Easy Cut Shoulder Ham, 3kg approx, with a use by date of 2nd March 2016, are urged to stop consuming the product immediately.

The ham, sold at Costco in Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and South Australia, has been recalled due to microbial contamination, otherwise known as Listeria Monocytogenes.

Listeria can cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with low immune systems.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are encouraged to return it for a full refund while anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
