From play-along sessions for toddlers, to an adventure-filled concert for kids 9 and up, MSO Education Week introduces the wonderful world of classical music to kids of all ages!
The first week of May 2016 will mark their 6th Annual Education Week. This lively and joyous program of concerts and activities, presented by international educator Paul Rissmann and MSO Associate Conductor Benjamin Northey, is designed to develop appreciation of music through learning and entertainment.

An Adventurer’s Guide to the Orchestra

This big, bold and fun concert showcases the sheer power of a large-scale orchestra performing some of the greatest musical giants and is the perfect experience for anyone interested in learning more about classical music.

The audience will have the chance to meet the quirky heroes from The Duck with No Luck and A Cat Called Scratch during performances which will see the quirky characters projected on a big screen above the Orchestra so the audience can share their wacky adventures.

For school aged children
This interactive concert is the perfect way to experience classical music, with Rissmann introducing a host of audacious characters, including Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice, made famous by Mickey Mouse in Fantasia.
