Why Netball is the Perfect Sport for Kids

Netball has always held a sweet spot in my heart. I played right through school, spending countless afternoons on the court, and I was a pretty awesome Goal Attack if I do say so myself!  There was nothing quite like the thrill of sinking a perfect shot or the rush of a fast break. Those years gave me a love for the game that still lingers today – the teamwork, the competition, and the friendships formed on the sidelines. It’s a sport that stays with you long after you’ve hung up your bib.

If you’ve been searching for the right activity to get your child moving, netball is a slam dunk (or should we say, goal shot!). Here’s why:

It’s Fun! From learning to pass and shoot to playing in a team, netball is all about high-energy fun. With Woolworths NetSetGo, kids start with fun activities designed to get them moving and build confidence before they take on actual gameplay. It’s all about playing, not pressure!

They’ll Make New Friends Netball is a team sport, which means instant friendships! Whether they’re playing with their school friends or making new ones, the supportive environment of netball helps kids bond, learn teamwork, and have a great time together.

Keeps Them Active & Healthy We all know kids need to move more, and netball is an awesome way to burn energy, improve coordination, and build strength—all while having a blast! It’s a sport that encourages fitness in a way that’s fun and engaging.

Superstar Inspiration! What’s cooler than meeting a netball superstar? Some of Australia’s biggest netball stars have played in NetSetGo programs, and this event is all about inspiring the next generation of players!
