After years of speculation, the Spice Girls have finally announced they are going on tour in June 2019. It may be only UK dates so far, but we’re crossing fingers that an Aussie stopover is on the cards. After all, friendship never ends, right?Â
Whilst Baby, Sporty, Ginger and Scary are back looking like they haven’t aged a day (someone tell me their secrets, PLEASE), their announcement has created a real buzz on social media.
Sadly, Posh will not be joining her old gal pals on tour. Instead the singer turned fashion diva has graciously wished her gal pals the best via Instagram.
“I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!” Victoria Beckham

The NEW Fifth Spice Girl?
I will throw my handbag in the ring, ladies.
I will possibly need to tweak my calendar slightly, but I can be the fifth Spice Girl. I am down on the lyrics and I can be whatever you want me to be. Busy Spice? Tired Spice? Puffy Spice? Move over, Posh, because I am ready. It’s Old Spice to the rescue!
In fact, I think the Spice Girls may have even been singing about my future as a mother, when they busted out with, “Hey you always on the run, Gotta slow it down baby, gotta have some fun.” Indeed I will, girls, but I’ll have more fun if you lock down some Australian performances.
Whilst the world is excitedly looking forward to hear what the Spice Girls can do, it seems everyone is jumping on board. Even Adele has cranked up the buzz with this fantastic picture from her own childhood. Might she join them on stage for a little duet?

And whilst the real story is the actual tour announcement, fans are taking to social media to express their shock at the revelation of the actual lyrics for Spice Up Your Life.
Surely I was not the only person singing, “I see ya, HOLD TIGHT!” No? It seems all along the line was actually, “Hai, si, ja! Hold tight!” The Japanese, Spanish and German words for ‘yes’.
Well, I guess I am no genius at Spice Girl lyrics as I did sing, “I wanna—, I wanna—, I wanna—, I wanna—, I wanna really, really, really want is Lucozade Pie” for many years. Makes way more sense to me than “Zigazig, ah”, or does it…?
And so as the Spice Girls songs continue to buzz through our minds, I will happily journey back to the days of Impulse deodorant, school discos and dancing in circles with my girls.
But ladies, “If you wanna get with me better make it fast. Now don’t go wasting my precious time. Get your act together, we could be just fine.”
This ‘Old Spice’ is waiting for my moment to shine; have your people call mine.
