Whatโ€™s the Story?

In KANGAROO, ex-TV personality Chris Masterman (played by Ryan Corr) finds himself stranded in Alice Springs after an accident. His path crosses with Charlie (newcomer Lily Whiteley), a 12-year-old Indigenous girl with a big heart and a strong spirit. Together, they begin rescuing and caring for orphaned joeys. A journey that changes both of their lives in ways they never expected.

A True-Blue Aussie Adventure

Brought to you by Studio Canal and directed by Kate Woods (Looking for Alibrandi) and inspired by the real-life work of Chris โ€œBrolgaโ€ Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, this homegrown story is packed with heart, humour, and a whole lot of furry cuteness. Filmed on Arrernte Country in Alice Springs and along Sydneyโ€™s beautiful coastline, the film also showcases the breathtaking landscapes that make Australia so unique.
