SHUT UP And Take My Money: Kmart Introduces Buy Now, Pay Later Option

Just when you thought iconic Aussie brand Kmart couldn’t get any better — it goes and offers flexible, interest-free payment options.

From the end of May, when you shop Kmart online you can use Zip Pay. This means, get the goods now…pay later! Woo hoo!

Zip will offer Kmart customers the opportunity to spread the cost of their purchases over a selected period of time. Zip’s flexible repayment plan allows you to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly installments. And they’re interest-free.

Zip CEO and Managing Director, Larry Diamond said, “We’re thrilled to partner with one of Australia’s most iconic brands to offer an alternative method of payment to customers.

We know Aussies love Kmart; it’s no secret that it’s hard to shop at Kmart without walking away with a full basket, even online. With Zip, we’re providing customers with a better way to pay for their everyday purchases.”

Making Kmart shopping even easier

Kmart Director of Retail Australia & New Zealand, John Gualtieri said, “At Kmart, we’re on a mission to make everyday living brighter for Australian families. Whether we’re creating on-trend products at everyday low-prices, extending opening hours to make shopping more convenient for customers or opening stores in new communities, we want to make shopping more accessible to more people.

“This is why we are excited to announce our new partnership with Zip, which gives our customers more flexibility and convenience when shopping with us online.”

Kmart already offers customers the option to pay using Afterpay, but this works slightly differently to Zip Pay. With Afterpay, the full price of the product is broken into four equal payments and these are deducted from the shopper’s bank account over 56 days.

With Zip Pay, you can decide when and how much to pay back and there’s no upfront initial installment.

Both Zip Pay and Afterpay charge zero interest and are free to set up.
