One totalled car. Two safe children. Three guesses why the kiddies in this horrific car accident came out unscathed.
We will give you a hint. It has something to do with placing your kids into their car seats (correctly) EVERY SINGLE TIME you get into the car.
Even if you’re just going down the road for milk.
We’ve been told countless times to buckle up. But here’s the photo that proves just how important it is to do so.
Mum-of-two Jenna Casado Rabberman posted a very distressing photo of her totalled Honda CRV. In front of the barely recognisable vehicle are two infant car seats, one Chicco and one Graco, both seemingly without a scratch on them.
As Jenna writes,”THIS is why you buckle your kids into their car seats correctly every SINGLE time. Even when they scream because the straps are tight. Even when they complain about the chest clip or being rear facing.”
“You never think it will happen to you”Â
You never know when you may be in a car accident. And you never know when your car may end up looking like the one in the above photo.
“You never think it will happen to you,” explains Jenna, who lives in Pennsylvania, USA. “We stopped for milk on the way home from preschool yesterday. We were minutes from home. Another car slammed into us.“
Despite only going a few blocks, Jenna took the time to buckle her two young children in. She took the time to check the straps on both rear facing seats. And she made sure that both her six-week-old son and nearly-three-year-old son were completely safe before driving off.
Although the nearly-new car will not see the light of day again, both little boys escaped “without a scratch”. Even their car seats are barely damaged (but, don’t worry, Jenna assures the social media trolls that, yes, she will be replacing them anyway).
“The paramedics told me it could have been very different had I not taken the extra two minutes to be sure they were buckled correctly,” Jenna explains. “I will be fine, my kids are fine, everything else can be replaced.”Â
Mum’s important message hits home for all parentsÂ
Jenna’s harrowing photo has been shared over 250,000 times in just two days and is clearly making quite an impact on the social media world. And so it should. Every parent needs to be made aware of the dangers that come with incorrect car seat safety.
