There’s something undeniably exciting about receiving a mystery box of wine on your doorstep, and Naked Wines delivers just that – a curated selection of wines from independent winemakers across Australia and New Zealand. But does it live up to the hype? Join us as Mum Central mum Zora put it to the test, (and we’ll preface by saying it was a tough gig, and here’s what we found.
PLUS, we have two stellar offers to share, one for the 6 bottles for $60 and one for a case of 12 bottles for $89.95 (save $100).
But first, onto the wine!

First Impressions – The Unboxing Experience
First things first – how did it arrive? The good news is, Naked Wines nails the packaging. The box arrived in excellent condition, and the wines were safely nestled with separators to prevent any unfortunate breakages. That’s a big tick for care and attention to detail!
“The box was in excellent condition. Wines were packaged safely with separators.”
One of my favourite things about Naked Wines was the surprise of unboxing. We opted for a mixed case, which meant we received a couple of reds, a couple of whites, a sparkling, and a rosé. It was like a lucky dip but for wine lovers!
The box itself arrived in pristine condition, with the bottles carefully packaged in separators to prevent any breakages. Delivery was fast, straight to my door, which is always a plus.

The Wines – A Delicious Line-Up
Let’s get to the important part – the wines themselves! Here’s what we received in our six-bottle box:
- Sauvignon Blanc – Crisp and refreshing, though slightly more tart than I usually go for. It was a great palate cleanser, perfect with seafood.
- Sparkling Wine – A fun, bubbly addition to the box. Great for toasting to the weekend!
- Narrative Rosé – My absolute favourite. It’s light, fresh, and easy to drink. It has hints of pink musk sticks, Turkish delight, fairy floss, and rose petals – making it a total winner for a warm day.
- Pinot Gris – Haven’t cracked this one yet, but looking forward to it!
- 2 x Shiraz – We shared one with friends as a gift, and I love that Naked Wines makes it easy to have a bottle on hand for special occasions.
“It’s nice to have the chance to try something different that I wouldn’t usually buy myself”
The variety was a definite highlight for some, allowing them to try wines they wouldn’t usually buy. The variety in the box was great, though I would have loved a Pinot Noir or a Merlot to mix things up. That’s something I’d tweak in my next order.

Supporting Independent Winemakers: A Noble Cause
One of the key selling points of Naked Wines is its commitment to supporting independent winemakers, something that resonated with our reviewer. One thing that really stood out to me is how Naked Wines supports independent Australian and New Zealand winemakers. Every bottle has a little “Angel-funded” sticker, meaning these wines come from small, passionate producers rather than big commercial wineries.
Naked Wines works with 90+ winemakers and supports 60+ wineries across Australia and New Zealand. So, when you buy from them, you’re directly helping these talented winemakers continue doing what they do best.
“I think they have a very noble mission in supporting independent winemakers,”
When buying wine in-store, you wouldn’t necessarily know which brands are independent, so it’s great to see that Naked Wines removes that guesswork, ensuring every purchase supports small-scale producers.

Quality and Taste: A Toast to Good Wines
Of all the bottles, the Narrative Rosé stole the show. I found it to be “really light and refreshing” and perfect for a summery feel”. It’s the kind of wine that pairs effortlessly with food or can be enjoyed while soaking up the sunshine. #winner

Value for Money – Is It Worth It?
Let’s talk dollars. Naked Wines currently has some great new customer offers:
- 12-bottle case for $89 – SAVING $100
- 6-bottle case for just $60 – SAVING $50 (this is what we got!)
Considering the total value of the wines in our box would normally range from $135-$150, getting it for $60 is an absolute steal! Even if you’re not a regular wine drinker, it’s a great way to stock up for gifts or special occasions.

Personally, I don’t usually spend a lot on wine – typically between $5 – $25 a bottle from places like BWS or First Choice. But this deal made me reconsider buying online, especially since you’re getting access to boutique wines that you wouldn’t normally find in-store.
Rating for value for money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

What I Loved Most
- The surprise of unboxing – It was fun seeing what was inside and trying brands I’d never heard of before.
- Convenience – Quick delivery, securely packaged, and straight to my door.
- Great quality wines – Even at the discounted price, the quality was impressive.
- Perfect for gifting – We gave a Shiraz to friends and will probably use this as a go-to for future presents.

Final Verdict – Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely! I rated Naked Wines 4 out of 5 stars overall. The delivery and packaging were flawless (5/5), wine variety (4/5), but the quality (4/5) and value for money (4/5) were impressive.
“A really fantastic online/delivery service for any wine lover out there! Naked Wines offers up a huge variety of wines from independent winemakers across the country, and it’s always exciting receiving a package in the mail – even better when it’s wine!”
Even if you don’t drink wine often, it’s a great option to have on hand for gifts, dinner parties, or a sneaky BYO night. Plus, supporting local wineries is a huge bonus.
So, would I order again? Yes – and next time, I might go for the 12-bottle case just to have even more variety. If you’re a wine lover or just want to try something new, I’d definitely recommend giving Naked Wines a go.
Overall rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
