Move over, nappies and 3am feeds—there’s a new royal baby in town! Princess Beatrice and her hubby Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have officially expanded their adorable little family, welcoming their second child, a beautiful baby girl. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a bit of royal baby news?
Introducing… Athena Elizabeth Rose!
Born on January 22, 2025, little Athena Elizabeth Rose arrived fashionably early (because who likes waiting anyway?), weighing in at a dainty 4 pounds and 5 ounces. But don’t let her tiny size fool you—she’s already got a name fit for a queen!
- Athena—because every little girl deserves a name as strong and wise as a Greek goddess.
- Elizabeth—a sweet nod to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
- Rose—because, well, it’s classic, it’s pretty, and every princess needs a little floral flair.
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate that this kid is already nailing life with an effortlessly regal name before she’s even learned to roll over.
Big Sister Duties, Activated!
With big sister Sienna, 3, and big bro Wolfie, 8 (Edo’s son from a previous relationship), little Athena has two built-in playmates and professional mischief-makers ready to show her the ropes. We can only imagine the chaos, cuddles, and possibly a few “That’s MINE!” moments coming up in the Mapelli Mozzi household.
And knowing how close Beatrice is with her own sister, Princess Eugenie, we’re pretty sure there’s going to be some major cousin playdates in the works. Imagine the royal backyard BBQs—tea parties, fairy wings, and a whole lot of castle-building.
Edo’s First-Dad Moment—Cue the Cuteness
New dad glow? Yep, Edo’s got it. The proud dad took to social media to share the first snap of baby Athena, bundled up in a pink blanket, calling her “tiny and absolutely perfect.” Cue the collective aww from royal fans everywhere.
We wouldn’t be surprised if this little lady already has a wardrobe filled with designer baby onesies and the softest, fluffiest blankies fit for a princess. After all, if you’re going to be royal, you may as well be comfy.
Where Does Athena Fit in the Royal Lineup?
Now, if you’re wondering how this new bub shuffles things up in the royal family pecking order, here’s the tea:
- Princess Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne.
- Sienna was in tenth place, but now she’s been gently nudged to eleventh.
- Baby Athena slides into the twelfth spot, meaning she’s still close enough to the throne but also free to just enjoy being a kid—think less royal wave practice, more finger painting and Peppa Pig (or Bluey!)
Overflowing with love and joy to be able to welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world. She is already so adored and I’m incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team! ❤️
Mum & Bub Doing Great
Despite Athena’s slightly early arrival, both mum and baby are doing beautifully. The family has been showered with love, well-wishes, and probably some over-the-top baby gifts from fellow royals and high-profile pals. (Kate Middleton, if you’re reading this, spill the tea—what’s in the baby gift basket?!)
Beatrice and Edo have also given a huge shoutout to the amazing hospital staff who helped bring their little girl into the world. Because let’s be honest—those doctors and midwives are the real MVPs of every birth story.
What’s Next for the Royal Bub?
For now, Athena is settling into life as a brand-new human, soaking up cuddles, milk, and undoubtedly some lullabies sung in posh British accents. While we wait for more baby pics (hint, hint, Beatrice!), one thing’s for sure—this little girl has a whole world of royal adventures ahead of her.
So, welcome to the world, Princess Athena Elizabeth Rose—may your tiara always be straight, your baby food always be warm, and your naps be long and peaceful (for your parents’ sake). 🎀👑
