I hate vacuuming. Actually I hate housework but vacuuming is in my top 3 list of chores I hate.
Going under the stairs and dragging the vacuum cleaner out. Plugging it in and then dragging it behind me. Reaching the end of the cord, unplugging it, finding a closer power point and re-plugging it and then dragging it behind me again. Then repeat. Vacuuming really is a drag.
The great injustice of course is that I love clean floors. So what’s a girl to do that hates the drag of vacuuming but loves clean floors?
ENTER BISSELL.
You know that moment when someone offers you something and they’re excited but you’re not? That’s what happened to me “Hey! Do you want to Review the new BISSELL Bolt Ion Cordless Vacuum and then tell us all about it??”
No.
But I’m so glad I did.
This portable unit is a sensation.
First of all it’s CORDLESS! I don’t even have to explain what that actually means for someone who does not enjoy vacuuming. I can just keep walking and walking and it just keeps coming with me. It’s also an upright so I’m not dragging anything. You push it. Push it real good.
Secondly, it’s the easiest unit I’ve ever used. It’s the perfect height, it’s light and the handle swivels. Plus the whole thing drops so that it’s basically parallel with the floor to get to those hard to reach places.
Thirdly, it has magic powers in the form of serious gadget factor which means my two boys love it. Over the holiday period they would actually ASK me if they could vacuum before guests arrived. Did you read that? THEY asked ME. Which means I don’t have to vacuum at all.

So what makes this unit so awesome?
- It has EdgeReach™ technology, a development by BISSELL which drives suction right up to the edge of skirting boards and other perimeters, rather than stopping short by the width of a cleaning head’s frame.
- It has a powerful CORDLESS cyclonic 2-in-1 stick vac that comes with a REMOVABLE hand vac which is brilliant. We use that to suck up the crumbs on the coffee table and the couch!
- Powerhead turbo brush for carpets and hard floors.
- Two models available – BISSELL Ion Bolt Model 1312F (blue) and 1312G (orange) which gives 30 minutes run time via of a 18.0V Lithium Ion battery (RRP $249), and BISSELL Ion Bolt Model 1311F with its 40 minutes run time and 25.2V Lithium Ion battery (RRP $299). Both run cord-free on Lithium Ion batteries and recharge completely in under four hours from their docking stations.
- The Bolt Ion comes standard with a multi-surface brush that can be activated if required for particular surfaces, and is easily removable for cleaning or replacement. The 25.2V model also has a pet hair brush (with rubber paddles for greater hair pick-up), and soft floor brush for delicate hard floors.

Love the EdgeReach technology. I always have to remove our vacuum head and do the edges separately – if I can be bothered.

Am quite lazy to move furniture around so I absolutely love the foldable handle feature that allows me to clean under the tables.
Efficient manouevrability. Not having to move all those dining chairs and furniture about will make vacuuming a breeze.
The EdgeReach technology is my favourite feature. It would be perfect for getting all of the cat hair and dust that works it’s way into the edges of the floor. It would also save me having to change the head to get into all the corners and edges.
having a bad back vacumming is one of the chores i hate the most, but with a Bissell Bolt Ion Cordless Vacuum it would make things so much easier not having to drag a vac along and not having to bend to get under furniture what a life safe this would be

Love it how its very light under 3 kg. I vacuum my carpets everyday as we have 2 dogs & 2 rabbits as pets so this would be great for me especially after my 2 shoulder surgery I had. Would be very easy to use & make life easier for me to clean 🙂

Hands down I love the fact that it’s cordless! I’m constantly running over the cord or having to move the plug to another outlet to finish what I started.

I love the fact it’s so portable – I can just grab and go whenever a quick clean up is required. On the other hand, having a 30-40 minute run time also means I can do a quick whip over the whole house too.
This looks like it is right up my alley!!! No lugging heavy vacuums around! I love the fact that it is so lightweight, and also the foldable handle which allows you to clean under low furniture without breaking your back! So many fantastic features – the close edge cleaning is also great, as my vacuum cleaner never cleans right up to the edge of the wall! I would really love to own my own Bissell Bolt Ion Cordless Vacuum.

Edge cleaning means that you don’t have to hard manual labour to get those edges clean. My back and knees are saved forever and sighs banished.
I like the fact that the Bissell Bolt is cordless, lighweight and the vacuum bag is washable, you couldn’t get any easier than that!

I actually love 3 features…the pet hair brush – one of our cats moults so much he should be bald! the edge reach – instead of having to use the nozzle to do the edges! and the detachable handheld vac – perfect for those pesky crumbs and small little spots!
I love the handheld vacuum, easy to pick up all those bits that get stuck down the side of the lounge or behind the carseats!!, and it recharges in less than 4 hours, no more waiting overnight!!
Definitely a few favourite features on this beauty…. Edge cleaning is one great feature, and being able manoeuvre with foldable handle & small footprint fold.. Now that’s what I like to see, an appliance that can bend over backwards for me!..

The Bissel Bolt Vacuum is a revolutionary vacuum. It operates with battery and is lightweight. This cordless vacuum can be use one handed and easily folders away. I have small hands and I love the smart features this machine is sporting. It would make my life easier as cleaning would cease to be blood sport.

The two features I like the best are cordless and manoeuvrability.
Cordless and light and the upright are all my favourite things for this vacuum. I hate vacuuming because I always end up with a sore back after dragging the vacuum cleaner around after me.
1. I hate vacuuming, 2. My kids love it. My current vacuum is too heavy for them to use. This would be perfect! I love that folding handle too, so easy to get in those hard to reach places. Cordless is a big plus too! I live in an older house, power points are few and far between, not to mention usually already in use, not having to worry about where finding a plug to reach everywhere would make life so much easier.
Being cordless would make me happy for my boy to use as he struggles to use our current vacuum but loves to try and help.
The cordless feature would be fantastic to stop the toddler pulling the plug out of the wall mid-job and it would make it so much more convenient for those quick clean ups under the table after meals with aforementioned toddler!
Vacuum, steam cleaning! Even remove that pet hair that’s always a mission. What can it not do!? And with a convenient cordless feature, it would be a domestic goddess’ perfect accomplice!

Bissell Bolt Ion
Bissell is a great brand as I have their steam mop. This cordless vacuum cleaner would be fantastic for us as I don’t have enough powerpoints in this house.

Love that it is cordless and can easily be used to quickly clean up the mess that my toddler and 7 year old make without having to drag out the big heavy vacuum.
Cordless and cleans right to the edge. It will mean that pile of dirt that everything gets swept into will be a thing of the past. I hate having to get the dustpan out.

EVERYTHING about the Bissell Bolt Ion Cordless Vacuum Cleaner makes me WANT ONE NOW, but my FAVOURITE feature is the EDGE CLEANING feature. I have a Jack Russell X Mini Fox Terrier, (his name is KAOS), who sheds a LOT of hair. It seems to find its way up against the skirting boards in ALL rooms, and my current vacuum cleaner is useless when it comes to picking it up. I think that with the Bissell, my cleaning time will be greatly reduced and more effective in solving this problem.
Being cordless will save me spending money at the physiotherapist….because I am a clumsy clot who regularly trips over my vacuum cord!
Foldable handle so that I dont have to keep bending and not having a plug in and lead will be a godsend….especially for the stairs!!

Well being cordless on its own is great, (since my daughter follows me around playing with my old vacuum’s cord) but the fact that it also has a hand held option is fantastic! Great for those moments when you find something small on the floor, take a deep breath and think ‘I have to get that big old vacuum out for this tiny mess? Ahhh’

There are so many great features, I love the fact you can get into those nooks and crannys which seem to harbour dust and pet hair but are usually so hard to get too.

I love the edge cleaning. No vacuum I have ever owned can clean edges well – this would be a God send!
This would come in so handy for me. Light and no cord to trip over. Just learnt to walk again and balance still isn’t great. This would give me some independence in taking care of my home…Yes you read right…I wan’t to clean !
The fact that it’s cordless would be so handy to go up and down stairs with a toddler and a new born in tow, so no one trips!
I love the fact that it’s cordless, easy to use ( so I can get my children to vacuum) and that i can pull out the smaller bit to vacuum my car with. I know thats more than one thing but there are so many good things that its hard to choose just one for my favourite.

Light!! Growing up I had the chore to vacumn. Our vacumn was a standup contraption that looked like the robot off Starwars! It was heavy and banged into walls often. Lightweight please!
Having a battery and therefore the ability to be cordless. This will make the task of vacuuming so much easier given my nine month old chases my current one (and adores a chew on the cord when I turn my back)
My very favourite features are that it is lightweight and cordless saving my back and eliminating annoying traling electrical cords.
Love that it has a pet hair brush as with a part persian cat, another cat and a dog, I need something that picks up really well.

Has to be the edge cleaning, nothing frustrates me more than not being able to clean properly along the edges. Now with Bissell I know it will be an easy job.

I can’t choose just one favourite feature so I’ll give you my top 3! I love the detachable handheld vacuum, the foldable handle and the edge cleaning.
I have a lot of pain with arthritis, and this vac is light and easy to manoeuvre around, and it has compact storage which I like, it would make my life a lot better , as my old vac is so heavy and parts keep falling off, its dreadful.
I have two replacement knees and so I can’t kneel and I have chronic back pain and so can’t bend, I love how the Bissell has the ability of the foldable handle, to get under furniture and other obstacles
Having a cordless appliance really apeals to me. Im one of those people that always manages to get the cord tangled up on the corner of the sofa etc. This it a great time saving feature ….for me anyway

I love the fact it is compact, I live in an apartment so I don’t need a heavy bulky vacuum cleaner and I don’t have much storage space either.

Although it has many amazing features, cordless is one of my favourites!!! Nothing for my toddler to grab. Also it saves finding power points to use and running cords over the baby gate.
40 minutes and no plugging and unplugging! Awesome for just zipping around after the toast monsters have been!
I love the foldable handle. To be able to get to thoses hard to reach places without breaking my back would be a delight. Also, CORDLESS! Goes without saying. One awesome vacuum, in features and stunning looks. My Mum has one and the second we get to her house, my 4 year old son pulls out the Bissell Bolt Ion Cordless Vacuum cleaner. I’ve always been jealous of my Mums one and always dreamed of owing one. I’d have a 4 year old cleaning buddy. Love it

The biggest thing for me is that it’s cordless! I am forever getting the cords stuck on the annoying corners of my house, or just running out of cord! But other than that I love that it has a folding handle and a swivel head so that I can reach around the furniture and not have to move things so much- it would make for a much easier and quicker clean!

Absolutely that its cordless – 100% all the way. Cords get stuck on EVERYTHING and then you drag half the furniture around behind you and then the vacuum cleaner gets stuck on the cord and falls over and then you have to unplug it and plug it back in… the list of cord problems is endless hahaha 🙂

Oh my, it has to be the amazing snap handle that can reach under beds, cupboards and off the ground couches etc, anything that saves my poor creaky knees from getting down on all fours to push a darn vacuum hose under un-movable furniture to clean is a winner in my book 🙂

I had a similar style vacuum many years ago (not as flash as this one), it broke and I have missed it ever since. It would come in handy for us considering the kids are constantly leaving a trail of crumbs, sand and dirt all over the house.

Other great points is light weight, foldable handle and no cord again for people with mobility issues this means no bending down.
Was looking to get a new vacuum for my mum am going to hunt one of these down for an in store test drive, unless I manage to win one for her which would be great as I’m a stay at home mum with 2 little ones.

Cordless, yep thats it.. I hate vacuuming so much. I get irritated by the cord. I keep telling OH if i had a cordless I would be more inclined to vacuum. IN and out easy. the hassel of the cord, plug and tubing really annoys me. I know!!!!

Living in a small, rented unit the small footprint of the Bissell is a major feature for me- it is hard enough finding space for everything else as is! Cordless would also be incredible, as I only have a limited number of powerpoints!

Love that it’s so light and compact so can easily be stored away. With 3 kids running around, love the idea of having no cord. My 2 year old follows me everywhere when I vacuum and has got tangled up in the cord many times.
Love everything about this vacuum. Spending all my time chasing after my bub and pets would make the tiresome task more enjoyable and a breeze. Ticks all the boxes for me.
Apart from being cordless which is a big plus with little ones who love to run around and chase the vacuum, the foldable handle looks amazing! It would save so much time as u wouldn’t have to move all the chairs out of the way to get under them, saving a lot of time! The edge cleaning function looks fantastic too. That’s something my current vacuum doesn’t do and u constantly have to get out another attachment to get into the edges and corners. The Bissell Bolt Ion Cordless vacuum cleaner would be a very welcome addition to my home and it would certainly get a good work out!!
I’m the same as the author – I really dislike dragging a vacuum and having to relocate the power cord. The Bolt would fix that issue without even blinking. Honestly, I avoid vacuuming if I can because my daughter hates it. She screams everytime she hears the noise. Being a cordless, the Bolt wouldn’t have the same noise to scare her. All in all, vacuuming would no longer be a drag!
I would love this! I have a carpet sweeper and its ok, but this would be GREAT! I love that its cordless, has a 2 year warranty and a foldable handle. The other thing that I think is great, is it weighs less then 3kg! Making it a great vacuum for my 2.5yo son to use since he just loves to help Mummy
Light and cordless! I hurt my back two weeks ago and was told not to vacuum, I was thrilled at first but it’s so hard to ignore half the sand from the sandpit all over the rug! This would be a lifesaver.

The brush for delicate hard floors. I have wooden floors and I’m not allowed to use our current vacuum cleaner on it (we both worked very hard sanding them back and re varnishing them) so I am currently sweeping and with two little ones, one who loves to play in my dirty pile this can be hard

I LOVE the idea of the Lithium Ion battery. It annoys me constantly having to plug and unplug the vacuum cleaner when ever I have the energy to clean the house. If I had this vacuum I think my house would be forever clean (I may even be able to convince the kids to help!!)

Being able to vacuum right to the skirting board! My vacuum can’t get right up to the corners and edges of our tiled stairs so I always have to vacuum the house then sweep the stairs. And with my wrist that needs an operation the lightness is an awesome feature as well!
I’m impressed with the pet hair brush, the folding handle, the 40 minute run time! A 2 year warranty and right to the edge vacuuming – I was in the market for a Dyson until this review.
I’m probably most impressed with how compact it is and how easily it folds up for storage. Most other products are big, bulky and take up most of my cupboard.
