Hands down this was a fabulous opportunity to escape the city, immerse yourself in Dutch culture and wonder at the million or so tulips! There were so many interactive opportunities to allow the kids to get ‘hands on’ and really embrace the event! Highly recommended, a fab day out!
Alicia and family
Wow!! What a fabulous event. Not only was this festival so well organised, but there is so much to see and do for the whole family – fun activities for kids of all ages, to food and souvenirs to buy.
From the moment you enter the gates you’re surrounded by a beautiful Dutch culture capturing the view of millions of beautiful colourful tulips across the fields. 100% would recommend this to everyone. Such a fun filled day spent out with the family.”Â
Estela and family

Flowers galore! Dandenong Flower Festival
The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at the stunning Tesselaar Tulip Festival is the flowers! There are over a million gorgeous flowers, including tulips, in full bloom and in an array of vibrant colours. It’s certainly not something you see every day and it truly is breathtaking to see and to walk amongst.
We were in awe of the beautiful flowers! We’re mesmerised with the variety of colours and sizes.” – Estela
With so many bright and colourful tulips you can’t miss such a fantastic photo opportunity. The variety and colours are beautiful,” – Alicia
REVIEWER TIP: Make sure you have PLENTY of battery and memory on your phone because you’ll want to take a trillion pictures of this paradise!
We were gobsmacked at the pure beauty of the blooms but also loved how many activities there were to choose from. There’s live entertainment each day including music and performances, with special guests Bluey and Bingo live interactive display in the first week of Children’s Week. The kids loved it … talk about audience participation!!
There’s also a fairy garden, treasure hunt, tractor rides, reptile zoo and drumming workshop – all opportunities for you (and the kids) to get hands-on and interactive. Plus, in the second Children’s Week, you can enjoy the Peppa Pig Stage show LIVE multiple times daily!
The kids had a fantastic day participating in drumming work shops, to taking a tractor ride around the fields, snake/reptile exhibition, giant bubbles and fairies, finding there way through the maze, and watching the interactive Bluey and Bingo show.” – Alicia
A feast for ALL the senses
We also loved the cultural side of things as the Tulip Festival has a Dutch-inspired vibe with Dutch food, shops, market stalls, a clog dancing workshop and is even home to its very own Big Thing – the Biggest Clog in the World. How cool!
And the food? Amazing!
We were spoilt for choice with the various food options available. Something for everyone, and those scones … they were next level!– Belinda
The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is pet-friendly and suitable for prams too. You can bring your own picnic or feast on the various food options available there. They also have a licensed bar.
The whole atmosphere of the event was so fun and exciting. The variety of food was fantastic and the Dutch culture was so wonderful to see that was spread across the whole event.” – Alicia
