Oh em gee, it’s baby times three!
And would you LOOK at that glorious belly?
Mama of four Maria Jorstad from Copenhagen is our current favourite insta-crush. She took to the ‘gram to document her journey growing triplets. We love ALL her belly shots – like this glorious stretched skin image below – but it’s her ‘week to week with triplets’ post that saw her go viral.
Triplets, from Go to Whoah!
Holy wow, that is a tummy stretched to full capacity! Maria, who is already mum to two-year-old Mikael, marvelled in the 10 September post at her own changing body. “I’m glad we took these pictures, because this collage really shows the massive growth,” she posted on her Instagram profile, Triplets of Copenhagen, which has swelled in size (geddit?) to 165k followers, as Maria’s pregnancy progressed.
“It’s strange to have ended up with such a big belly and it’s even stranger that it can stand out like that without falling down,” she says. Indeed!
There’s HOW many in there?
At exactly 13 weeks, Maria and partner Anders found out that they weren’t just expecting one bundle of joy. No, no, no. There were THREE tiny babies, safely stowed away.
We had our first ultrasound at exactly 13 weeks, and got the biggest surprise of our life. Total shock. And three perfectly shaped babies.”
While life marched on, the family of three prepared to become a family of SIX. They waved bye bye to their beloved hybrid SUV and hello to a brand new mini-bus and started stock-piling #allthethings for #allthebabies. And can we just take a moment for the A-FREAKING-DORABLE matching sets of knits?
Bumping down the aisle
Pregnancy is never a walk in the park and with three babies onboard? Yeah, you could be excused for wanting to lie down. All the time. Not Maria however who, despite suffering a few gnarly side effects from growing three humans, threw a WEDDING into things #superwoman #thatpregnantglow.
The countdown
Maria shared at 30 weeks that they hoped that the babies would stay cooking for another four weeks, despite the pregnancy starting to really take its toll.
“And the countdown has started for real. The last few days have been tough, the pregnancy is really starting to take its toll on me. Frequent Braxton Hicks contractions, itchy and stinging skin on my tummy, bad sleep, sore gums, and so on and so on.”
And then, at 35 weeks, the safe arrival of Iben, Filip and Agnes on 13 September, 2018. And yep, we are smitten.
Congratulations to the beautiful family. You can follow along as they adjust to life with three (well four!) at Triplets of Copenhagen.
