Picture this: a brand new board game arrives at your door, your kids lose their minds with excitement, you gather around the table for family game night, and then – you film it. The chaos, the laughter, the “MUM THAT’S NOT FAIR” moments and all. That’s literally the gig.
We’re building a brand new, dedicated Board Game Review Crew here at Mum Central, and we’re looking for real Australian mums who love creating video content and want to review board games across the whole of 2026. Games delivered straight to your door. Honest reviews. Real family moments. And yes, you get to keep the games.
Sound like your kind of thing? Keep reading.
What Is the Mum Central Board Game Review Crew?
If you’re familiar with our Mum’s The Word Review Panel, you already know the vibe. We connect real mums with real products, get their genuine feedback, and share it with our community of over one million Australian women. It’s third-party endorsement that actually means something – because it comes from families just like yours.
This new crew is a little different. Rather than reviewing across a wide range of products, this panel is dedicated entirely to board games, and it runs for the full year. You’ll be part of a hand-picked group of parents who receive different games throughout 2026, test them with your family, capture it all on video and in photos, and share your honest thoughts.
Here’s some examples of games we have reviewed so far.
Who Are We Looking For?
We want parents who are genuinely enthusiastic about family time and comfortable being on camera. You don’t need a professional setup. You don’t need a ring light or a perfectly styled dining room. You need personality, authenticity, and the ability to capture real moments – the good, the chaotic, and the genuinely fun.
Here’s what we’re looking for in our Board Game Review Crew:
- Comfortable on camera. You’ll be answering questions to camera and capturing your family playing the games. It doesn’t need to be polished – it needs to be real. If you already create video content for social media or have done any kind of on-camera review work before, even better.
- A family with kids at home. Any age works – we need a mix! When you apply, you’ll tell us the ages of your children so we can match you with the most relevant games throughout the year.
- Committed to deadlines. This is a genuine review project with a real client. When a game lands at your door, you’ll have a clear timeframe to test it, film it, photograph it and submit your content. We need people we can count on.
- Great communication. There’ll be some back and forth throughout the year – briefs, check-ins, feedback. We keep it simple, but we do need you to be responsive.
- Based anywhere in Australia. Metro, regional, rural – we want a good spread of Australian families.
What Does the Review Process Look Like?
When you’re matched with a game, here’s what happens:
- The game arrives at your door with a detailed brief outlining exactly what we need from you.
- You’ll test the game with your family over a set period, giving everyone a proper chance to play and form an opinion. Then you’ll capture your content: a mix of video footage and answering our review questions to camera, plus lifestyle photos of your family playing. Sometimes you’ll be required to share it on your own strongest social channel/s – we’ll let you know up front what we need for each project.
- We’ll guide you through everything. You’ll know exactly what shots we need, what questions to answer, and what the deadline looks like.
- Once submitted, your review content becomes part of the campaign, shared with our Mum Central audience and used by the brand to promote sales of the game, as endorsed by real Aussie families.
Why This Is More Than Just Free Games
Look, free games delivered to your door is a pretty excellent perk. But this is also a genuine opportunity to be part of something that matters.
Board games have had a serious comeback in Australian households, and for good reason. They get kids off screens, spark real conversations, and bring families together in a way that’s actually fun rather than forced. Being part of this crew means you’re helping other Australian mums find the games worth buying – the ones that’ll actually work for their specific kids and ages, and the ones that are genuinely worth the family game night investment.
Your review – your real, unscripted, authentic family footage – is what helps other mums make that call. That’s pretty cool.
How to Apply
Applications are open now and spots are limited. We’ll be selecting a diverse mix of families from across Australia with kids spanning all ages, so the more detail you give us in your application, the better.
To apply, you’ll need to complete the form below and include a short video introduction – just 30 to 60 seconds of you telling us who you are, a bit about your family, and why you’d be a great fit for the Board Game Review Crew. Think of it as your audition tape, but make it you – not a rehearsed performance.
Applications close 3 May 2026. Don’t sit on this one.
