It’s official! Bindi Irwin posted yet another gorgeous announcement on her Instagram account yesterday, sharing with the world that she and her husband Chandler Powell are having a girl!
It’s only been a month since 22-year-old Bindi announced her pregnancy, but since then they’ve certainly (and very excitedly) been sharing all kinds of updates on social media, and we’re loving them all!
Her post was filled with joy, as usual. “Baby girl, you are our world. ❤️,” Bindi wrote.
In the gorgeous image, Bindi and Chandler look thrilled as she’s giving a tortoise a cuddle, with chandler holding the ultrasound picture proudly.
“Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year.”
Her anticipation and excitement builds
It’s evident Bindi is so excited about her up and coming growing family, and her recent posts on her social media reflecting just how much she can’t wait to grow her family.

Earlier this month Bindi spoke about the excitement of finding out she’s about to become a mum and how much it’s impacted her and Chandler.
Discovering that I was going to become a mother will forever be a moment where time stood still. I took a test and ran into the kitchen where Chandler was making us tea. He didn’t hear me come in so I speechlessly watched him pouring the water into my most loved hedgehog mug. This news would change the course of our future in the best way. I started crying tears of pure joy and told my sweetheart husband that my test was positive.
Where it all began
It wasn’t too long ago news broke, and the world responded.
“It is such a blessing knowing that this tiny person has chosen us as parents. Our baby Wildlife Warrior is going to be so very loved by our families and entire Australia Zoo team. I can’t wait to find out what this amazing new soul loves in life, and experience the world all over again through their eyes.”
Bindi has been incredibly transparent with us through her pregnancy, which she states is really important for her. In her original pregnancy announcement she wrote:
“Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter… We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us.”
With Bindi’s baby daughter due in 2021, we’re expecting more gorgeous and exciting pregnancy updates. Which makes us wonder … what animal do you think she’ll compare her next baby update to? I know for one, at nine months I felt like I was carrying a wombat!
