Bindi Irwin has confirmed she is expecting her first child with new husband Chandler Powell.
In an Instagram post shared today, the 22-year-old wrote:
Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021.
Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you. Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter. We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light. ❤️
The accompanying photo on their pregnancy announcement is just gorgeous! Bindi 22 and Chandler, 23, pose side by side in their Australia Zoo uniforms, with a teeny tiny version of their uniform for their little one. Naww how sweet!
The announcement comes a week after the one year anniversary of her engagement to Chandler, a professional wakeboarder.
In an Instagram post, Bindi gushed over her ‘amazing man’, telling him how much she loved him with all her heart!
Their engagement announcement, just on a year ago at Australia Zoo, was met with incredible support from everyone around them. After all, what’s not to love about love, especially when this wildlife crusader looks so incredibly smitten and happy. And it was on her 21st birthday too, how magic!

Bindi announced her engagement to her then 3.3 million Instagram followers, again gushing over the ‘most beautiful surprise’. Best of all, Bindi said she had absolutely no idea that he was going to propose (or that little brother Robert was across the park snapping pics of the magical moment). Well played Chandler, well played!
Five months later they were married in a private ceremony at Australia Zoo. It wasn’t exactly the ceremony they had planned, as COVID put a stop to the large gatherings and the elaborate wedding she’d dreamed of.
Instead family and friends insisted the pair continue and get married without them, to which they did. Here’s a few of our favourite pics of the day … and might I say what a backdrop for a wedding! What a stunning bride she made too … just perfect!
Bindi’s brother Robert walked her down the aisle, and she lit a candle alongside Chandler in memory of her late father Steve Irwin. I bet he was so proud as punch watching down on the beautiful woman she has become and how incredibly well she has matured in front of the eyes of our nation!
Seriously, the whole family are just incredible. So happy for them all!
