Hands up if you’re tired of tampons and pads. Are you looking for a better, more cost-effective and sustainable alternative? We are!
Disposables just aren’t working for us anymore. We’re over the cost, the frequent bathroom visits and the impact on the environment.
We, as mums, deserve a better way to period. Mum life can be busy and stressful at times. The least we can do is find a better way to care for our periods amidst the other stresses that fill our days.
Mums, meet the DivaCup®– a reusable menstrual cup that collects your flow rather than absorbs. It’s pad-free, tampon-free, leak-free and drama-free … and could be just the thing you’re searching for if you’re wanting a better period experience.
Better how? When you use a DivaCup you don’t have to deal with the costs and inconvenience of tampons and pads. It also means no more plastic waste, no more worry about leaks, or needing to find a toilet every three to four hours.
At Mum Central it’s no secret we love testing new products and would love for you to join us as we delve into the world of the DivaCup. The DivaCup is all about challenging the period status quo, and we’d like you to join us in that. And no, we’re not throwing a period party.

We are, however, searching for 15 mums who have never tried a menstrual cup before to join us on the Inner Revolution. If selected, we’ll send you your own DivaCup and ask you to try it over three-period cycles and report back to us on what you think of it.
Keep on scrolling down to apply if you’d like to trial (and keep) the DivaCup for free.
[mc_block_title custom_title=”DivaCup menstrual cup – what’s it all about?”]
The DivaCup has been leading the menstrual cup game for over 15 years. It’s now challenging people to Join the Inner Revolution that has people questioning their own period care routines and how they’ve been taught to feel about periods. Yes, the DivaCup is a product, but a product that is empowering people around the world to start their own revolution and empower others to do the same.
What makes the DivaCup revolutionary? We have 7 mind-blowing points that will hopefully answer any of the questions that came to mind when you first read ‘reusable menstrual cup’.
Here are a few things to know about it:
-
Yes, reusable.
No more plastic waste and no more having to stock up on pads and tampons every month because the DivaCup is an annual purchase. Not only is the DivaCup a huge money-saver but it’s also eco-friendly so super sustainable for our beautiful planet.
-
You can wear it for up to 8 hours at a time.
This means fewer washroom breaks and NO chance of your child walking in and asking you, “Mummy, why are you inserting that weird white mouse into your bum?”
You can also wear the DivaCup while you swim, do yoga, play sports and it’s great for overnight wear to avoid those messy (and disruptive) middle of the night changes.
-
It’s suitable for all ages.
The DivaCup comes in three different sizes to suit all ages and flows:
- Model 0 is for those under 18 and new to the world of periods.
- Model 1 is for those who are under 30 and have a medium menstrual flow.
- Model 2 is for those who are 30 or older, and/or have a heavier menstrual flow.
This is one of the things we love about the DivaCup – it can handle MUM periods. Don’t worry, it can even work for those bodies that have had a few kids and whose vagina muscles may need a little more TLC to keep up their strength.
-
It’s easy to insert (once you get the hang of it) and even easier to clean.
The cup itself is relatively easy to maintain. You will need to boil your DivaCup for 5-10 minutes before use and every month at the end of the cycle to re-sterilise it but that’s about it! It’s also important to make sure you wash your cup after you remove it each time.
Fun fact: There is a special cleanser, the DivaWash which is the perfect cleaning companion for your cup (pH balanced and everything). You’ll receive some with your cup if you’re selected for our project.
As for insertion, well, we promise you it’s not nearly as confusing as you may think. It all comes down to how you fold it. There are step-by-step instructions to follow, as well as videos and a wonderful consumer care team to help you out if you get stumped.
-
It’s made of 100% medical-grade silicone.
No added chemicals, latex, dyes, rubber, plastic or BPA. After all, plastic and vagina don’t belong in the same sentence and DivaCup knows it.
-
You can’t even feel it.
When positioned correctly, the DivaCup is so comfortable you can’t even feel it. Since the DivaCup is made of soft silicone and was designed with the vaginal canal in mind, many DivaCup users say they can’t believe how comfortable it is.
-
It collects rather than absorbs menstrual flow.
The DivaCup sits low at the base of the vaginal canal for easy insertion and removal and collects the menstrual flow before it can make its way to your undies. The best part is, it doesn’t leave trace residue and won’t dry out the vaginal canal. This means it’s not disrupting the vaginal environment or pH, which is great news for your vagina.
