Kate Middleton is a lot of things – a working mum, a wife, a princess and an exceptional amateur photographer. Is there anything this lady can’t do? Here are some of our favourite candid snaps, captured by the Duchess of Cambridge herself.
We first learned of Kate’s photography skills shortly after Princess Charlotte was born, when she broke with tradition and captured photos of the children herself, releasing them to the public as the official portraits.
And they’re always just so beautiful, natural photos and such a treat. When your mum is the one taking the photos you get a real glimpse of their personalities, there’s no stiffness or shyness. It also helps that Kate is an absolute star behind the lens also.
Want to take family snaps as well as Kate does? Check out these 11 family photography tips to make pictures pop!

Royal or not, just like any other mum, Kate snaps Louis getting VERY busy with some paint.

Show me someone who takes a better back to school photo than Kate Middleton, I’ll wait.
14. Prince William turns 38
You can imagine how this went down “let’s take a nice photo with Dad for his birthday….” Next minute..

Most recently, it’s this pic of Prince Louis on his pushbike which was released for his third birthday this year. It was followed by Charlotte’s 6th birthday portrait. What little darlings!
As much as we love Kate’s photography we’d love to see her in the frames as well, so Kate – it could be time for a selfie stick perhaps?
