5 Delicious Homemade Pizza Toppings

Use a pre-made homemade pizza base or even pita bread or a tortilla to make homemade pizzas! Such a fun way to get the kids involved and try different topping combinations.

These are our favourites- they’re so simple and hopefully they’ll give you some inspiration!

Mediterranean Surprise

Cover the base with tomato sauce or tomato puree. Sprinkle over some shredded mozzarella, then top with sliced cup mushrooms, basil pesto, and cherry tomatoes. Place in the oven at 180˚C for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with a squeeze of balsamic glaze and some greens like rocket or lamb’s lettuce.

 

Prosciutto Pie

Cover the base with tomato sauce or tomato puree. Sprinkle over some shredded mozzarella, then drizzle over some garlic infused olive oil and sprinkled chilli flakes. Place in the oven at 180ËšC for 10-15 minutes. Top with prosciutto crudo, fresh rocket and grated parmesan.

Green Machine

Cover the base with tomato sauce or tomato puree. Layer on another layer of basil pesto. Sprinkle over some shredded mozzarella, then place on some sliced tomato, and tiny heads of broccoli. Place in the oven at 180ËšC for 10-15 minutes. Top with cracked pepper and sea salt.

 

Getting Figgy with it

Fig-and-prosciutto-pizzaDrizzle olive oil over the base, then a very thin layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. Layer thinly sliced figs and crumbed gorgonzola. Place in the oven at 180ËšC for 10-15 minutes. Top with thinly sliced pancetta, fresh thyme leaves, a drizzle of honey and cracked salt and pepper.

 

Zucchini Garlic Dream

Zucchini-garlic-DreamCover the base with thinly slice zucchini and brown onion. Make garlic butter by combining 3 tbsp of soft, almost melted butter with 2 cloves of crushed garlic. Brush the garlic butter over the veggie layer. Crumble over some goats cheese. Place in the oven at 180ËšC for 10-15 minutes. Top with fresh parsley and cracked pepper.
