Who doesn’t love a free book? Especially one that features the beloved Sesame Street characters? Well, mums and dads, you’ll want to make a pit stop at BIG W on 18 February as Big W’s Free Books for Kids program returns to the shelves.

We love this incentive and this time around we’re extra excited because #ELMO! I mean, every child should experience the joy of Big Bird and watch their favourite Sesame Street characters come to life on the page in front of them.

The gift of storytime

This year the store will have 2.6 million books to give away, 40,000 books to children in need (a bit more on this later).

The heartwarming picture books feature everybody’s favourite Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and Cookie Monster.

But what about the families that don’t live close to a BIG W?

BIG W is also donating 40,000 books to the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) and Good360 Australia for families living in remote and rural areas, and communities in need. After all, every child should have access to reading material!

What a great program – good on ya, BIG DUB.
