This mum nailed it – and the best bit – everyone can make their own pizza complete with “hairy gross fish” and “the good sh*t” cheese. It’s the kind of setup that will have you singing That’s Amore! all night long. SAVE A SEAT FOR ME.
A mini pizza party to feed a small crowd!
Rachael Hallet created the ultimate DIY pizza toppings table for people to make their way around to build their very own delicious pizza. And as you’d expect, it promptly blew up on Facebook – it’s so cool! Did someone say a mini pizza party? It could well be!
Placing each option in its own bowl, I love that Rachael has used a roll of brown craft paper to double up with a guide for what’s what, including a side of hilarious cheekiness with some of the names: “Easter bunny food”, “hairy gross fish” and “snotty sea creatures”. That would be spinach, rocket, anchovies and oysters to those playing at home.
Rachael has included all the regular family favourite toppings, plus some adventurous ones such as eggs and corn. Clearly not one to shy away from controversy, a bowl of pineapple is the ultimate dare for pizza enthusiasts. For the record, I’m most definitely team pineapple.
“This is a great way to serve your toppings as it’s both a table cloth and labels. Just lay a roll of butcher’s paper over the table… When you’re done just pack away the bowls and rip the paper off.”
I see “the good sh*t” cheese there too Rachael, and hats off to you for knowing cheese MAKES a pizza. So you have to bring the good stuff to the table.

And it contains fruit so, it’s almost a #healthfood.
Let’s talk pizza party dough…
I’m not going to judge anyone for making a bee-line for shop-bought pizza bases for even less cleaning up and prep work, especially if throwing a pizza party. Because I’m all about the shortcuts too. However, Rachael does mention in the comments on her Facebook post that their family cook full-size pizzas and added her recipe, saying that she uses her Breville bread machine’s dough function to make it.

Rachael’s bread machine pizza dough recipe
Makes: 2 pizzas
Ingredients
- 200g water
- 15g olive oil
- 5g salt
- 375g bakers flour
- 7g yeast
Method
- Mix on the machine’s dough setting and let the bread machine do all the kneading work.
- Roll the dough out and place it on a pizza tray. Top with pizza toppings.
- Bake at 200°C for 12-15 minutes until the base is cooked and pizza toppings are warmed through.
2 ingredient pizza dough
Makes: 1 large pizza or 2 small pizzas
Ingredients
- 1 cup low-fat natural yoghurt
- 2 cups self-raising flour
Method
- Use a stand mixer with dough hooks or a Thermomix, place both ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead for 7 minutes. If you’re kneading by hand, you’ll need to knead for around 10 minutes, dusting your bench with flour so the dough doesn’t stick.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Roll the dough out onto baking paper and gently prick the surface with a fork.
- Bake the base for 7 minutes, just long enough to start the cooking process and to stop it from being too soggy for the pizza toppings.
- Take the base out of the oven, let it cool slightly and then add pizza toppings. Cook it in the oven for another 20 minutes until your pizza is cooked through. YUM!
Cooking your pizzas!
Cooking pizza is really easy – you just need high heat! Cook pizzas in your kitchen oven, in a hooded bbq or if you’re lucky enough to have one, an actual real-deal pizza oven.
Pizza stones are amazing for getting that base nice and crispy and retain the heat so keep pizza hotter for longer, but if you don’t have a pizza stone, try a pizza tray with an aerated base. And if you don’t have any of that, rest assured, regular baking trays will also work just fine.
