The Masked Singer judge, Nick Cannon is making headlines for his super sperm. In 2021, he’s welcomed three babies with two different women. At the end of 2020, he had another bub, with another woman, and he also has three other kids (two with Mariah Carey and one with the same woman he welcomed his December 2020 baby with).
A bit lost? Yup. Me too.
But, if my maths are correct, he’s got seven kids with four mums. Nick is pretty proud of his procreation powers and admits that he’s purposely having all these kids because “YOLO”.
When asked about his big year of procreating, Cannon said,Â
Trust me there’s a lot of people that I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t. The ones that got pregnant are the ones that were supposed to get pregnant.
I’m like a seahorse out here. That’s just the way I’m procreating.”
As unconventional as his fathering is, the thing that really sets this situation over the edge are names he’s chosen for his offspring.
Mariah’s twins
Nick’s first two kids, a set of twins with Mariah Carey are Moroccan and Monroe, now 10. When they were first born I remember being a bit judgy about their unique names, but, hey, now these names are kind of tame in comparison. And cute too.
Golden and Powerful
Next, we have four-year-old Golden Sagon, with model Brittany Bell. Brittany and Nick also welcomed their second child together, a girl named Powerful Queen, in December 2020.
Powerful Queen guys. Let’s just take a moment and let that one sink in.
Gen Z babies
Now we’re in 2021, and last month Nick added three more kids to his crew, all with Z names. On June 14th he and a woman named Abby De La Rosa welcomed twin boys – Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir.
Then 9 days later, his other model girlfriend, Alyssa Scott welcomed another boy, Zen S. Cannon.
To recap
We’ve got:
- Moroccan and Monroe
- Golden and Powerful Queen
- Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir
- Zen S.Â
Celebrity baby name themes
Of course, Nick isn’t the only celebrity to go above and beyond the norm when it comes to baby names. Sure, most people don’t breed babies in such rapid succession, but, hey, it’s 2021. Stranger things have happened.
Earlier this year the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt added to his Olympic team with twin boys, named Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt. He also has a daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt.
Sticking to a baby-naming theme, Jamie Oliver and Jools are big fans of botanical and boho names with their crew, Poppy Honey, Petal Blossom, Daisy Boo, River Rocket and Buddy Bear.Â
Ed Sheeran recently welcomed a little girl with the fitting musical name of Lyra while The Rock has two Disney princess daughters, Jasmine and Tiana Gia.Â
It’s not just celebrities that like the themed baby names. Check out this New Zealand mum who went with Pantera, Slayer and Metallica for her kids’ names.Â
