Got a portacot stashed away? If it’s from Big W, then don’t use it for your baby or toddler until you read this.
Big W is recalling one of its popular portacots because tests have revealed it doesn’t meet safety standards,
The urgent recall applies to Big W Dymples Portacot (article 8286069). It comes after tests found the cot doesn’t meet Australian standards and may pose an injury risk to little ones.
The Dymples portacot was sold in Big W stores between December 11, 2014 to May 24, 2018. It has the article number sewn into the label on the mattress.
There is risk of injury to a child
“At BIG W, we take the safety of our customers very seriously. While we are not aware of any safety incidents with this product, the recall is necessary because recent laboratory testing has revealed that the product does not comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS 2195:2010 – Folding Cot,” the company said, in a statement.
“There is a risk of injury to a child and customers should immediately cease using the product and return it to any BIG W store for a full refund.”
