Recall on Single Batch of Weleda Baby Teething Powder Issued

If you’ve ever used Weleda Baby Teething Powder, it’s time to do a quick cupboard check. A recall has just been issued for one specific batch of the 60g Oral Powder due to a potential safety risk. While it’s likely your bub has outgrown their teething days if you bought this a while ago, it’s still important to check.

The silver lining in this? Only one batch only affected, and it was issued a year ago, so chances are if you have purchased it more recently it might not be the affected product. Here’s what you need to know.

What is Weleda Teething Powder and how is it used?

Baby Teething Powder helps relieve the discomfort and restlessness of teething in babies and children. Traditionally used as an anthroposophic and homoeopathic medicine.

What’s going on?

Weleda Australia is recalling batch number (B)231302 after discovering a possible issue during packaging that may have led to tiny glass fragments getting into the powder.

The batch in question has an expiry date of 11/2026 – and it’s the only one affected. So if you have any other batch numbers, you’re totally fine.

What are the risks?

If this powder from the affected batch is used, and it does contain glass fragments, it could cause pain or irritation to your baby’s gums. In more serious cases, there’s a small risk of choking or internal injury if any fragments are swallowed – something no parent wants to even think about.

Again, the chance is slim, but Weleda is doing the right thing by recalling the batch to be safe.

What should you do?

  • Check your bottle: Look for batch number (B)231302 and expiry date 11/2026.

  • Got this particular batch? Don’t use it and return it to the place you bought it from for a full refund or replacement. No receipt necessary.

  • You can also contact Weleda Australia directly via email as****@********om.au or call them on 1300 551 454.

What if your baby already used it?

If you’ve already used the powder and haven’t noticed anything unusual, there’s likely no cause for concern – especially if your child is past the teething stage and you’ve already finished the product.

But if you’re worried or just want peace of mind, have a chat with your GP or healthcare provider. It’s always better to ask.

Why this matters

Recalls like this don’t happen often – but when they do, it’s important to spread the word. You might not still be using this product, but it could be hiding at the back of your medicine shelf, in a nappy bag, or tucked away in a baby box.

And if you know another mum who’s used Weleda teething powder, send this their way – just in case.

Quick recap:

  • Product: Weleda Baby Teething Powder 60g
  • Batch: (B)231302
  • Expiry: 11/2026
  • Issue: Possible glass fragments due to a packaging fault
  • Action: Don’t use it. Return it for a refund or replacement.

It only takes a minute to check – and it could make a big difference. 💛
