Cosmos Ready, the Sex and The City Girl Gang is Back!

Our favourite girl gang (and with any luck, Mr Big) is set to hit our screens once again in a Sex and The City reboot. A brand new series has been confirmed by HBO and we are poised and READY.

Sex and The City took our screens by storm back in 1998 discussing ALL the taboo subjects at the time – being single in your 30s, finding love in your 30s, being sexually promiscuous and of course, friendship between adult women. And boy, didn’t we all want a squad like this one? Alas, the show wrapped up in 2004 and though heartbroken, we moved on.

But hold the New York dump truck. What’s this rumble I hear?

THEY’RE BACK.

And Just Like That….

Sarah Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) teased us on Instagram over the weekend with this post, featuring a trailer with not so subtle hints as to what’s unfolding at HBO Max this year. #saywhat

HBO website reads

Although Sex and the City last aired in 2004, the story isn’t over just yet: Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte will navigate life and friendships as 50-somethings in And Just Like That…, a new series coming soon to HBO Max.”

Which leaves us wondering what has happened to Kim Cattrall’s famously raunchy character, Samantha Jones? Years ago Kim reportedly implied she’d cut ties with the Sex and The City squad and, well the rest is history.

But hey, we’ll take what we can get.

So what will SATC in 2021 have in store for us?

I can only hazard a guess what’s in store for viewers with aging Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, but I’m thinking we will definitely witness storylines of the trials and tribulations of being perimenopausal, raising teenagers into adulthood, career evaluation and how to make thick ankles look great in a pair of Christian Louboutin sky-high heels.

One thing I do know for sure is it will have us all convinced that turning fifty will be FABULOUS.

With that said, get your cocktail shaker ready for the endless Cosmopolitan cocktails and stay tuned – we hope it will be hitting the Australian airwaves before too long!
