Forget baby showers! Move over mum-to-be morning teas! Celebrating pregnancy just got a whole lot more fun with the new trend of gender reveals!
What better way to announce whether you’re having a boy or girl than at a gender reveal party with family and friends? You can even share in the surprise by having someone else prepare the reveal so that you find out at the same moment as those you love!
Thinking you’d like a gender reveal party? Here are some of the best ways to announce the gender news from 2016.
1.THE ENVELOPE PLEASE...
Ask your doctor to write the gender on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. At the gender reveal party ask someone special to open it and make the announcement!
2. CUT THE CAKE
A favourite way to make the reveal – cut the cake and see what’s inside! Let the colour of the cake show who’s hiding in your belly.

3. POP THE CORK
What’s a celebration without champagne! Ask your guests to share a toast of pink or blue (achieved via food colouring!) non-alcoholic champagne.
4. BALLOON POP
Pop a balloon and let blue or pink glitter show that you’re expecting a baby boy or girl. This is gorgeous for photos especially if there is a big brother or sister to do the popping!
5. LET'S PLAY PINATA
It’s great to get your guests involved! Play a game of Piñata and the pink or blue lollies will let everyone know who’s on their way.
6. JACK (OR JILL) IN THE BOX
This one makes for lovely photos – open a large box and let pink or blue helium balloons pop out to show if you’re having a Jack or a Jill.

7. BONBON BABY
A cute one to do with your partner – together pull open a bonbon that is filled with coloured confetti.
8. WE NOW PRESENT
Simple and sweet – unwrap a present containing pink or blue baby clothes, booties or a teddy with the right coloured ribbon.
9. LET THE TUMMY TELL
If you’re comfortable baring your belly, write boy or girl on it, draw a coloured heart or tie a ribbon around it – when it’s time let your tummy tell who’s inside.

10. ROCK A BYE BABY
Reveal if it’s a boy or girl by pulling the cover off a bassinet made up with blue or pink blankets
11. WITH A BANG
For those wanting to make the announcement with a bang, let pink or blue fireworks say’s boy or girl!
12. BREAK THE WATERS
A fun one if there are older brothers or sisters – make a splash throwing water balloons filled with coloured water or paint like this wild couple!

Our favourite reveal of 2016?
It all seemed simple enough – the parents opened a box of helium balloons. But imagine the confusion when both pink and blue balloons popped out! They weren’t announcing a boy or girl – but one of each! It’s twins! Surprise!
