Stephanie Hansen is a single mum to three adorable toddler girls – Daphne, Rubie and Penelope. All three babies were born in 2020 but they aren’t triplets.
Daphne was born in January while Rubie and Penelope were born in December, just 10 months after their big sister.
Stephanie, who lives in the USA, went from 0 kids to three kids in less than a year admitting it was total chaos but “the best chaos”.
A newborn and another two on the way
Rewind to 2020. Stephanie welcomed her daughter, Daphne on 28 January. She was a single mum and had just started dating someone new, at the beginning of a pandemic too.
She didn’t expect to be able to fall pregnant this early on but she decided to go to the doctor and ask for birth control just in case.
At the doctor’s, she had to take a pregnancy test before getting the birth control script. And, to her surprise, it can back positive. Daphne was just 94 days old.
As expected, Stephanie experienced ALL the emotions as she came to terms with the news she was pregnant again.
“I was in a newborn fog, and [then] there was the excitement of this new relationship,” she said. “I was just adjusting to everything.”
Among the emotions were guilt and sadness as Stephanie feared Daphne would miss out on that precious one-on-one time.
“There was definitely some initial sadness.”
Stephanie then discovered that she wouldn’t just have two under one. She would have three babies under one. She recalls sharing the news with her sonographer that she had a newborn at home only to have the sonographer tell her she was having twins moments later.
Three babies under one
Daphne was just over 10 months old when her mum gave birth to the twins. Her firstborn wasn’t walking or talking but she loved her little sisters from the beginning.
“All Daphne wanted to do was touch them,” Stephanie said.
From three babies to three energetic toddlers!
Stephanie now has three two-year-olds in the house, with Daphne turning three very soon. As they live in America, all three girls would technically be in the same year in school and graduate in the same year level too. The three siblings are inseparable and have been since day one.
“They are the Three Musketeers. They’re on the same schedule. They eat, bathe and play together. They share a room.”
Stephanie shares their antics on her TikTok channel and admits it’s been tough, but also amazing.
One of the harder moments was when Stephanie and her partner broke up. The ex-couple now share the parenting duties of the twins.
“When we broke up I was devastated,” she confessed. “But I said to myself, ‘I’ve got this. We’re not going to sit around in our pajamas crying. We can sink or swim.’”
“It’s not always easy,” she said. “But I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life. These kids are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
12 under 12
Stephane isn’t the first mumma to experience back-to-back pregnancies. American mum Courtney has been pregnant every year since 2008 and has 12 adorable little munchkins, all with a C name.
They’ve got Clint, Clay, Cade, Callie, Cash, Colt, Case, Calenda, Caydie, Coralee and Caris. They welcomed baby #12 – Cambria in 2022.

11 kids in 14 years
Another supermum is the beautiful Satu Nordling Gonzalez who had her first child 14 years ago. Since then she’s been pregnant pretty much every year. She and her husband have just welcomed baby #11.
Her kids are Nicole, Vanessa, twins Danillo and Johnathon, Olivia, Kevin, Celina, Isabelle, Melanie and Benjamin. We’re not sure of the newest addition’s name. Satu lives in Sweden and loves showcasing her lovely family on Insta, matching outfits on point.
Nine babies… at once
In May 2021, Malian mum, Halima Cisse gave birth to nine babies. Yes, nine. At once. At just 25 years old, Halima became the first person in history to successfully give birth to nonuplets.
Now, these nine little miracles are officially one and, after spending their entire lives in hospital and in an apartment close to the hospital, the nontuplets have now headed home to Mali.
