Be one of the first in Australia to see the show
Whether you’ve never seen The Wedding Singer or can recite it word for word (guilty), you’re in for a divine evening of comedic and romantic goodness with this hit Broadway musical.
It’s never been shown in Australia either so you’ll be one of the first Australians to see it.
It’s a nice day for a Broadway musical
The show hails from the geniuses behind Bring it On The Musical and focuses on popular wedding singer Robbie Hart and loveable waitress Julia. Expect ALL things 80s – permed hair, big shoulders, oversized jewellery, neon colours, the whole 80s shebang.
FUN FACT: The writer of The Wedding Singer Musical is the same writer who penned The Wedding Singer movie so expect the same classic charm as the original movie. We can’t flippin’ wait!
What’s The Wedding Singer about anyway?
If you aren’t familiar with the original, allow us to bring you up to speed.
Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s number one wedding singer and life of the party. That is until his fiancé strands him at the altar. The once wedding-lover turns bitter and broken as he basically crashes every wedding he sings at.
Enter Julia, a wedding caterer/waitress who helps get Robbie out of his singing slump. But, of course, Julia is engaged to major douche, Glen. Can Robbie pull off the performance of the decade and win the girl of his dreams? I think we ALL know the answer. But watching it unfold live on stage will be EPIC!
All-star cast
While we won’t see Adam Sandler or Drew Barrymore on stage, the line-up is absolutely spectacular with some of Australia’s best theatre performers taking on the iconic roles.
