Mum Central has an exciting opening for a Social Media Manager to join our dynamic team . The work-from-home role is a part-time (20-25 hours a week, Monday to Friday) position.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, creative, experienced, and strategic Social Media Manager to join the team at one of Australia’s Premier parenting and lifestyle publishers.
With a highly engaged network of over 1 million mums including a cranking Facebook community 816,000 and hundreds of thousands of mums who visit our website monthly, We are truly focused on delivering quality, authentic, timely and relevant content for our audience of 20-50-year-old women.
Responsible for curating content, driving engagement, reporting, analytics and creating our own in-house content across Mum Central’s social media channels, our new Social Media Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Facebook, including overseeing numerous Facebook groups
- TikTok

What are we looking for in our social media manager?Â
We are searching for someone who doesn’t just partake in social but understands it. Responsible for creating content and moderating our social media channels, you love social media, but your love for it goes above the Insta-stories and viral videos. You love the trends, the algorithms, and discovering what makes people talk, click, and tick through the various social media channels.
Most importantly, you will:
- Be a key member of a small dynamic team. You will work closely with both the sales and editorial teams and liaise with sales on all commercial content on a daily basis.
- Plan and schedule content across all our channels. You will post multiple times a day on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram and regularly on Pinterest and LinkedIn. Sometimes that’s up to 19 posts in a day … this is not for the feint hearted!
- Compose content (images, videos, stories, memes, reels, Pinterest boards, graphics) for all social media channels. This includes creating content yourself as well as sourcing content and finding content creators to work with. Some graphic design will also be required so having a good eye for design is a bonus!
- Be responsible for reporting on trends and insights across all channels and search out trends that will resonate with our audience. Our social media manager will be committed to truly understanding the Mum Central reader and what will (and won’t resonate!) with her.
- Take part in weekly Zoom meetings with the team plus quarterly strategy meetings and annual strategy trips.
- Review products, take photos, and create video content for various campaigns, as requested.
Key requirements:
- Actively engage with our audience and get in front of the camera to create content.
- Have 3+ years of working in a similar role. Experience in content creation and graphic design is a plus!
- Have great communication and writing skills and a superior understanding of all social media platforms.
- Have strong attention to detail and a slight obsession with numbers – and growing our channels!
- Be able to demonstrate a passion and alignment with Mum Central’s vision, purpose, and core values through your application.
- Have the confidence and ability to take the lead on social media and work independently as well as with a team.
- Ability to plan, work autonomously and work under pressure to deadlines.
