“We’re having a baby!”
It’s the gorgeous news from Carrie Bickmore’s 11-year old son Oliver that has a collective “Nawwwwwww” echoing around Australia.
The gorgeous Bickmore-Walker clan announced via Instagram today that Carrie is indeed pregnant with her third child. And we’re just as excited about The Project host’s news as three-year-old Evie.
Is it twins?
“Guess what, Evie?” Oliver opens the video with. “We’re having a baby!” The excitement on the soon-to-be big sister’s face is palpable. “Now?” she asks her mum. “Is it a boy or a girl? Have you got twins?”
The super sweet clip, which Carrie captioned “Hey some exciting news to share with you. We are having a BABY 👶 🍼 How funny is Evie asking if it’s twins. No honey it’s not twins!!!!!!” has been viewed 37,539 within the first hour. Just re-confirming how much we love the Bick-meister and her blooming baby bump.
The baby will be Carrie’s third child and second with her partner, Chris Walker. The couple welcomed Evie in 2014. They met after Carrie lost her husband (and Oliver’s father) Greg Lange to brain cancer in 2010.
Carrie has been candid about her fears during pregnancy and birth, sharing on the Carrie and Tommy radio show that she needed counselling after her traumatic birth with Oliver. ‘It’s beautiful, it’s special, but it’s also traumatic. It’s painful – I would have done anything to have the experience erased from my mind,’ she shared.
And that’s one of the (many) reasons we love her; her honesty.
It’s been a busy few months for Carrie with the annual launch of her latest Beanies 4 Brain Cancer initiative. She created the foundation after her experience with her first husband to raise desperately needed funds into finding a cure for brain cancer.
We wish this gorgeous family all the best and can’t wait to follow their journey this third time around.
