Talk about a crazy birth story! This one takes the cake.
It started out like any weekend night. Vivian Wise Ruizvelasco, 20, was out at a nightclub with her mates, celebrating a friend’s birthday. Vivian, who is a sales assistant from Mexico, had NO idea she was pregnant, let alone full term AND in labour!
Hip and stomach pain
Two days before the birthday event, Vivian started to feel ill. However, on the day of the party, she said she felt well enough to go out for dinner and drinks.
While out on the town, Vivian started to experience hip and stomach pain. She decided to call it a night around midnight and went home, hoping the symptoms would go away after a sleep.
She drank some herbal tea and took some over-the-counter pain meds, then headed off to work in the morning.
However, around 3pm she called her boyfriend, Tonatiuh Gonzalez to explain that the pain was still really bad, worse in fact. Tonatiuh picked her up from work and took her straight to the hospital.
She quickly discovered that the pains were labour pain. She was not only pregnant but about to give birth.
‘I found out I was pregnant when I was already in labour’
By this stage the pain was horrendous and the news she was about to become a mum was too much.
I found out I was pregnant when I was already in labour,” Vivian told NeedToKnow.Online.
“Immediately, I went into shock for many reasons – such as if the baby was okay and what I was going to do with him, as I’ve never carried a baby in my life. (I worried) about everything I needed to buy and, in that moment, my world fell apart.”
Vivian didn’t have much time for things to set in. She was whisked away for a c-section and placed under anesthesia. She gave birth to a little boy named Matias.
Vivian admits that, at first, she and her boyfriend were left with incredibly mixed emotions. And, fair enough! One minute she’s at a birthday party. The next she’s a mum. However, the couple quickly stepped into parenting overdrive and her boyfriend was sent out to collect the things they needed to bring their baby boy home.
An unsuspected pregnancy countdown
Vivian shares her story on her TikTok account with a series of photos leading up to the birth, from the first month to the eighth month, then just three days before giving birth. Photos of her dancing, singing, drinking, swimming with her friends and boyfriend, all obviously from when she had no clue she was pregnant.
She then pans to a picture of the couple cradling their newborn.
The video has since been seen by millions of people, all just as shocked as she was when she found out she was in labour.

Many people shared similar stories of not knowing they were pregnant until late in the pregnancy while others couldn’t quite believe she didn’t realise she had a baby in her belly.
I always led my life as if nothing happened and I went out to parties a lot. But I no longer drank so much because I had my gallbladder removed almost a year ago.
I was still drinking something though, as well as exercising and swimming – everything was really normal.”
Matias is now a cheeky, crawling infant and is absolutely adorable! While his arrival certainly shocked Vivian and her partner, they have now settled into a little family routine.
The fact I have to teach him how to be in life is very nice and he’s already going to daycare, as well as being happy. He’s my son, my partner and the love of my life – it’s honestly the best and most sudden thing that could have happened to me.”
