Australian businesswoman Roxy Jacenko has caused quite a stir on the interwebs this week after sharing the exciting news that she bought her daughter, Pixie her very first car.
It’s a sleek black Mercedes-Benz GLC 350, valued at $85,000. Nice choice mum!
Except, Pixie doesn’t have a license just yet.
In fact, she’s only nine years old. That’s her in the pic below with her little brother, Hunter. Also not of legal driving age.
Seven years too soon?
Roxy shared a few snaps of Pixie’s new wheels on her Instagram page and people were quick to point out that a nine-year-old doesn’t need a car.
“How can a child have a car?” one person asked.
“Please tell me this is a stitch-up,” another said.
Safety first (age second)
Now, while this doesn’t make a whole lotta sense to the average person, Roxy was quick to defend her decision, explaining that she bought her daughter the car because of its safety features.
It’s of utmost importance to me that both she and her brother Hunter travel safely on the roads when going to and from school so I purchased a car for her,” the Sweaty Betty PR founder told news.com.au.
Obviously she doesn’t drive it, she is driven in it as is her brother to and from school and from any activities.”
A car AND a driver – what a lucky little girl to have her very own Benz before she turns 10!
Roxy isn’t shy about her love of pretty things and pretty cars. She has an impressive fleet of cars chilling out in her garage including a Land Rover and an Aston Martin.
And now her daughter can add to the collection with her new wheels.
