Got a little one who loves her nuk nuk?

Then this simple dummy trick is about to change your sleep routine.

‘Everything in moderation’. Except dummies. You can never have too many dummies, especially if you have a dummy-loving child who won’t stay asleep unless she is sucking on one.

If this sounds like your child, then do we have the perfect solution for you!

Ready for it? Add more dummies.

The 10 dummy trick

Mum Laura Gerson shared the incredibly simple solution on the Motherload Facebook page, where it has helped countless parents get a decent night’s sleep.

Like many little ones, Laura’s daughter, Amelia would often wake at night simply because she needed something to suck on and had lost her dummy in her sleep.

Every night Laura would do the zombie shuffle in and out of Amelia’s room, in search of the missing dummy to stick back into her daughter’s mouth. Until the clever mum decided to switch things up a bit.

Dummies for the sleep win

Laura decided to place 10 more dummies around her daughter’s cot so that, if Amelia did lose one, she could easily root around with her hand and find another one. With 10 different dummies to reach for, the odds are pretty good!

Laura writes, “99% of the time she feels around, finds a dummy, sticks it in and she’s sorted! Haven’t had to go into her at night for about 8 months now… WINNING!!

“I don’t even wanna think about the time when the ’dummy fairy’ comes to take them away though!”

Of course, this dummy trick isn’t for every child or every parent, especially if you are worried about dummy-dependence. But it just might be the solution you are searching for to get a decent night’s sleep. And to finally put an end to the late night nuk nuk hunts.
