Well, mums and dads. It’s official – the Christmas sun has set. The New Year’s parties are over. And the back to school train is about to depart.
It’s crazy how time flies when the kids are home … and driving you nuts.
As you finish the post-Christmas clean-up and begin your back to school preparation, we wanted to share one of our favourite products to add to the kid’s school bag this year – the Thermos® FUNtainer®.
This clever range of insulated food jars and drink bottles are not only awesome at keeping foods (and bevvies) hot or cold, but they are also a massive hit with the kids. And, if the kids like them, there’s a much higher probability of actually EATING what’s packed inside, right?
Ensure empty lunch boxes and full bellies
There are countless different food storage containers on the market, but none of them compares to the Thermos® FUNtainer®. The quality of these jars and bottles are by far the best I’ve ever come across – and as a mum, that’s a lot. The range has replaced the container disaster that once consumed my kitchen cupboard.
What else makes the Thermos® FUNtainer® range so wonderful? We can think of a few things!
The Thermos® FUNtainer® Factor – 5 Reasons to Try
1. Kids dig them!
Simply put, Thermos® FUNtainers® range looks cool. They come in funky designs and the other kids at school comment on how yummy my kids’ lunches look. Food envy is real, folks, even in primary school.
So my kids proudly eat their food and show off their Food Jars and I look like the world’s best mum for packing awesome lunches. Which really aren’t awesome at all, but, hey, I’ll take it.
2. Great for hot or cold foods
Food Jars are perfect for both hot and cold dishes – keeping contents hot for up to five hours and cold up to seven hours, which is insane!
Plus, the two varieties of drink bottles either keep water (and other non-sparkling beverages) cold for up to 12 hours which is perfect for kids to stay hydrated at school, sport and on the bus commute home!
3. Adds flavour and varietyÂ
For kids who aren’t fans of daily sandwiches, Food Jars allow parents and families to get creative in the kitchen to trial different lunch foods and maximise your chances of the kids eating it.
On the cold front, try fruit salad, yoghurt, veggies and dips, pasta salad or custard.
For warm foods, consider leftover spaghetti, stir fry, soup, mac & cheese, mini quiche, savoury muffins or fried rice. Occasionally, you can even treat them to homemade sausage rolls, chicken nuggets and party pies.
4. Perfect for daycare and family days out
Not just for the big kids – toddlers and preschoolers love Thermos® FUNtainer® too.
They are even ideal when out with the kids, on road trips, weekend adventures and, basically, anytime the kids are likely to complain about being hungry – which is ALL the time!
I pack one full of snacks no matter where we are going. It saves me hearing, “Mum, I’m starving, can we stop for ice cream?”
No, we cannot. Check your Thermos® food jar. Have a snack. Stop trying to send me broke. And tempt me with ice cream.
5. There’s HEAPS of choice
There are over 40 different Thermos® FUNtainer® colours and styles to choose from, including Disney-themed options. Here are just a few of the options available:
- Butterflies, flowers and owls
- Cars, firetrucks, sports and ninjas
- Mini Mouse and Mickey Mouse

A wonderful article & prize; thanks for an opportunity to win and good luck everyone.
What a terrific competition. This is such an ingenious idea for day trips. I dont like having packet snacks and its hard to take fresh items as they spoil really easily
