Check your highchairs folks! A safety recall has been issued for three older but popular highchairs, sold between 2016 and 2018, through leading retailers including Target and Big W because of concerns of seat cracking and toppling fears.

Got a highchair you bought a while ago? A recall by CNP Brands has sent parents into a spin this morning, urging you to check your highchairs.

What’s the issue?

CNP reports that after receiving feedback from a very small number of customers, a possible quality fault in a small number of Pod high chairs has been identified.

In some circumstances, it may be possible for the plastic casing at the top of the chair leg to break or the seat to crack.

A potential fault may occur if the high chair has been in use for 2 years or more, or if the chair is placed under extreme torsion. Not all units are impacted.

What should consumers do?

If you have one of the highchairs above, please check the model number and when the chair was purchased. For those who don’t have the affected model, you don’t need to do a thing.

If you have one of the affected highchairs, please contact CNP Brands. The team will then send a supportive cross-brace kit for eligible high chairs, designed to strengthen the structure of the chair and help prevent unreasonable torsion. This will be sent with installation instructions at no cost to you.

For more information and to organise your cross-brace kit, head to CNP Brands and hit the relevant model recall link, or alternatively, contact them through their Contact Us page.
