Heroic Pup! Dog Saves Baby after the Infant Stopped Breathing

Henry the dog is being hailed a fur hero after he alerted his humans that his human baby sister wasn’t breathing.

Henry’s master, Kelly Andrew shared her story on Twitter, explaining how, if it wasn’t for her loyal dog, she may have lost her baby girl.

As Kelly explains, her dog Henry continued to break into her daughter’s nursery and waking the baby. She started to get annoyed with Henry until she went into the nursery to discover that her baby wasn’t breathing.

“Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him. Until she stopped breathing,” Kelly wrote.

“We spent the night in the hospital. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her. We don’t deserve dogs.”

Kelly took her infant to the hospital after that and, thankfully, her little one is okay.

After sharing the story on Twitter, many people praised Henry for his heroic efforts. Many shared their own tales of their dogs also saving the day.

“Many years ago, we had a cat that slept with me in my crib. One night the cat went in and tried to get my parents up, after being thrown unceremoniously off the bed several times, he peed on my dad’s chest and ran out and back to my crib where I was, blue, and not breathing, SIDS,” one user shared.

“We couldn’t figure out for the longest time why my service dog kept going into my parents’ room several times a night sniffing my dad’s face and nudging him repeatedly. They always pushed her away and she would still circle back. She stopped as soon as he got his pacemaker”, another said.

Here are a few more incredible pet hero stories:

Peanut saves little girl

Peanut, a rescue pup, one day took off from his loving furever home. His owner followed Peanut and to his surprise, he found Peanut sitting next to a naked, shivering three-year-old girl circled up in a ball.

Peanut’s master scooped the little girl up and got her help. By the time the ambulance and police arrived, the little girl could only say one thing – ‘doggie.’ The little girl was later removed from her abusive home.

Pawsitively heroic

Major was a service dog for Terry McGlade, a U.S. Marine who suffers from PTSD and seizures. When Terry had a seizure, Major managed to take Terry’s mobile phone out of his pocket and put his paw on it to press emergency services.

Dispatchers thought it was a prank call and kept hanging up. Major, however, refused to accept that, so he kept dialing. Eventually, they heard McGlade in the background and sent ambulances. When they arrived, Major was waiting out front to lead them to his person.

Slightly rattled

This adorable swollen pup in the photo below is Todd. He bravely took a rattle snack bite for his owner, after he jumped in front of his owner’s leg to block the snake from biting her.

As Todd’s master, Paula Godwin shared on Facebook,

“It was a beautiful morning but as we were walking down the hill I literally almost stepped on a mf rattlesnake. But my hero of a puppy Todd saved me. He jumped right in front of my leg where I surely would have got bit. This is what a hero looks like.”

Dog saves baby (again)

Finally, we share the story of Blacky who saved a newborn’s life. On Christmas Eve 2020, Junrell Fuentes Revilla was driving his motorcycle near a dumpsite when he noticed Blacky barking at him.

Blacky led the motorcyclist to an abandoned newborn baby wrapped in a towel. Revilla alerted emergency crews and the baby was rushed to hospital. If it wasn’t for Blacky, the newborn would likely not have made it.

Give them pups a medal! And perhaps their own TV show. Sorry PAW Patrol, there’s a new crew of heroic pups in town.

I know of a dog that told her owners that their daughter was having a severe Epileptic seizure and struggling to breathe on more than one occasion. The dog had previously slept outside overnight. After that she slept in the laundry on her own special bed. The dog was a snorer and kept their other daughter awake.
I also know of a cat that did the same thing
