Everyone’s Favourite Ogre is Taking the Stage in Melbourne This Month

If your kids love the crazy antics of Shrek and his band of merry misfits, they might just love watching the talented kids from Stage Masters perform the theatrical adaption of Shrek The Musical JR. at the Alex There in St Kilda this month.

Based on the hilarious animated Motion pictures from Dreamworks, and from the book by William Steig, Shrek The Musical Junior is making its stage debut in Melbourne.

Get ready to let your freak flag fly in this hilarious stage spectacle!

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” sees everyone’s favourite green ogre, Shrek, lead a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to find acceptance, and rescue a princess along the way. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek The Musical JR. is an exciting, energetic and hilarious new show with a wholesome message the whole family will enjoy.
