Heart Health : Go Red For Women on Thursday 11 June

Heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australian women and Heart Foundation’s annual fundraiser Go Red for Women on Thursday 11 June is a big opportunity… to make a big difference.

A few weeks ago you would have read our Deputy Editor Tania’s story where she came face to face with a heart attack and didn’t even know it. Having bravely shared her story with us, we have taken on her real-life wake-up call and are taking care of our own hearts.

And we want you to do the same.

Go Red for Women is an easy and great opportunity to help raise awareness and vital funds for women’s heart health.

There are two fun ways YOU can help.

1. Wear Red

Simply wear something red on Thursday 11 June and make a donation or, better still, host a Go Red event at work or with your friends and family – a morning tea, perhaps.

2. Get Involved

This year The Heart Foundation is asking everyone to take a selfie of what you’re wearing  to ‘go red’ and use your social network to get others involved. You could wear red lippy, paint your nails red, put on a pair of red heels, wear a red dress or just some red accessories. Whatever you choose, simply use the hashtag #WeWillBeRed and share it on your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc and help raise awareness and funds for women’s heart health.
