Did your kids receive an adorable watch like this for Christmas? If so, it’s time to check if it’s one of the recalled Kaiser kids watches.
Kaiser watches recalled!
This Kaiser kids watch range was only released around Christmas, so there’s every chance your child may have received one (or spent their Christmas money on buying one!)
The Kids Slap Band Watch range was sold at Kaisercraft outlets and online between the dates 17 December 2019 and 31 January 2021.
The ACCC Product Safety Australia recall notice has all the details as listed below:
What you need to know
The product details: Kaiser Kids Slap Band Watches with various character faces in a variety of colours.
Problem: The products do not comply with the ‘Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020’.
If the watch face is removed from the slap band, the battery compartment is easily accessible, posing a digestion risk to smaller chilren.
What is the safety hazard: If young children gain access to the button batteries and swallow them (or even push them up their nose), they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. Additionally, button batteries pose a very real choking hazard to young children.
What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the products and return them to the nearest Kaisercraft store to receive a full refund. Sorry kids!
For further information, consumers can contact Kaisercraft by phoning 03 5240 2000 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEDT) or via email at sa***@ka*********.au or go to Kaisercraft.
