We LOVE love and it’s coming back to our screens in May with an all-new season of the ABC hit series – Love on the Spectrum!
Clear the calendar, love is in the air!
Love is in the air this May when the award-winning, much-loved series Love on the Spectrum returns to the ABC for a second season! Welcoming back into our living room the dulcet tones of narrator Brooke Satchwell, this popular 5-part Australian original concept series screens next month and you don’t want to miss it!
Giving us all the feels, the Love on the Spectrum series is both warm-hearted and uplifting, and continues to tell the stories of people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships. And boy, love can be a bumpy road.
Michael is back!
Australia fell in love with Michael in Series 1 and his search for true love still continues. Still a single man, but ever determined, Michael’s back to continue his quest and hopefully this time he will fulfil his dream. In the sneak peek preview below, Michael’s asked if he’s glad to be back and his response is “Yes I am, definitely”.
Michael goes on to explain why and it becomes abundantly clear the guy just wants to be happy and bring someone else the same happiness. Just like all of us. Swoon.
“I just can’t bear the thought of being single all my life. It’s lonely, it’s boring and it’s also unfulfilling like you lack a purpose. I can’t see myself without a wife. There’s no other way for me… I’m on my quest for true love and I cannot give up on that.”
Season two kicks off with a few familiar faces, and some delightful new ones. This new season represents an even wider range of people and personalities, showing just how diverse the autism spectrum really is.

The search for love continues
In Season 2 we see romantic sparks fly between singles who date both neurodiverse and neurotypical partners. We explore heterosexuality, bisexuality, and pansexuality. We witness the beautiful blossoming of love between young adults with intellectual disabilities. The one thing this crew all have in common is they all wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Back on the dating journey is dinosaur-loving Mark and engaged couple Jimmy and Sharnae. There’s also both first-time and experienced daters Kassandra and Jayden and two young nervous singles, Ronana and Teo. And of course, Michael is back.
Helping these young folks is relationship expert Jodi Rogers who gives amazing support and relationship tips (we can all use those!) and of course, their own family and friends who have to sit back and cheer them on from the sidelines, witnessing both the joyful moments and hard knocks that come from being in the dating world.
From brutally honest first dates to a happily ever after, watch it all unfold in season two of Love on the Spectrum, begins Tuesday 18 May at 8.30pm on ABC TV and iView. It’s a television series the whole family can watch and enjoy, so book your spot on the couch early!
