If my sons could NEVER brush their teeth again, they would be happy. Twice a day, every day I nag encourage them to brush their chompers. Once before we leave for school and once before bed.
Sometimes I don’t nag encourage and then when I’m saying goodbye or tucking them in ask ‘did you brush your teeth?’ And the answer is always one of two:
“Yes” which could be either the truth or a lie on any given day OR “You didn’t tell me to”
I have been nagging encouraging them for eight and six years respectively and it’s STILL my fault if they choose not to without my prompting.

My boys have been brushing their teeth independently for a couple of years now and do the obligatory minty breath in Mum’s face as proof of such. But for the purposes of this review, I have been standing in the bathroom with them while they are brushing and I have discovered the most disturbing thing. My kids don’t know how to brush their teeth properly. Even though I was sure I had taught them.

Even the ten year old. I am genuinely surprised. And incredibly pleased.

The timer is great. My son likes to be very independent but I am convinced he brushes for only about 2 seconds and then spends 2 mins decorating the basin in toothpaste.

My favourite feature of the Phillips Sonicare Electric Toothbrush is the KidPacer delivering sounds to help keep my son brushing for the full 2 minutes as he continually stops and gets distracted.
Probably the best idea is the Kids Timer with Music as it encourges children to take the time to clean thier teeth properly. It also removes most of plaque that wouldn’t be removed by a manual one. They will be more inclined to clean their teeth using the correct method too – in a circular pattern, not sideways as most people do that is more abrasive on the surface of your teeth. I had this explained to me by a Dentist, and a couple of weeks by a Dental Hygienist.

I have the adult Phillips sonicare toothbrush. The very best toothbrush I have ever used. When I clean my teeth, they feel like I’ve just been to the dentist.The kid timer will be great. The adult brush has a timer as well, when I started using it, I was shocked how long it took for the two minutes to run out, and realised even though I thought I had been brushing for two minutes, I wasn’t at all. Anyone using this toothbrush will be really happy with it, I’m sure.

My daughters are very very fussy about teeth brushing. No amount of nagging seems to make them take it seriously. They LOVE playing with my phone, which would make the app a winner in our house. Love the sonic action, I work in the dental profession and have used both the sonic and oscillating head (Oral B) types of electric toothbrushes and hands down prefer the sonic brushes. They feel much gentler on gums and have a lovely small brush head, ideal for anyone but especially kids’ mouths!
