A touch of Dutch

The unique Tulip Festival is not only famous for its gorgeous flowers but also for its vibrant cultural experiences. There’s a touch of Dutch to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival including delicious Dutch-inspired food vans, souvenir shops and market stalls full of funky Dutch finds.

Take part in their Clog Dancing Workshop (daily) and snap some pics in the Biggest Clog in the World.

If you start to feel peckish, head to one of the many Dutch food vans serving up Poffertjes, Croquettes, Dutch Kibbeling (fish), Reifkoek (Dutch Potato Cakes), Frikandellen (Sausage dish), Gozleme, Baked Potatoes, Potato Twisters, Cakes, Calamari, Double Dutch Soft Serve and Belgian Fries just to name a few.

Bring your own picnic, pram and pets!

On the flower and food front, there really is something for everyone, including fussy eaters. But you’re also welcome to bring a picnic too. Just no BYO alcohol (there’s a licensed bar on the premises so you can purchase it there).

While you’re packing up the car, you can also chuck in the pram as the Tesselaar Tulip Festival is pram-friendly. There are a few hilly parts on the property but it’s perfectly suited to prams.

And what about pets? Pack your furry friends too – just make sure they remain on the lead.
