Seen on TikTok (yes, I’m still there) and Instagram, more and more videos are popping up of parents stealthily recording themselves creeping up on their kids while they’re fixated on watching TV. The challenge is to lay your head in your kid’s lap. And then await their reaction. If any. Good or bad. Gulp.

It’s a super cute and refreshingly harmless challenge (unless you cop a swat to go away) which reminds us that parenting isn’t always like Groundhog day. It’s not all spilled drinks, changing nappies and wiping sticky fingers. It’s warm and fuzzy (kinda sticky and hairy) cuddles too. Which is what we need right now when the days seem 36 extra hours long while stuck at home.
