Call your bestie Bec, your brother Chris and your co-worker Brooke and send them a big CONGRATS. Why? Because the odds are with them to have a baby in 2022.
And it’s not just Bec, Chris and Brooke either. We’ve got the names of 25 men and 25 women most likely to become parents next year. Sarah, Emma, Rachel, Michael and Daniel – we’re looking at you!
How do we know who is having a 2022 baby?Â
Are we wizards in disguise as mums? Not quite. We actually don’t know but we do have a pretty cool way of guessing. Here’s how it works:
In Australia, the average age of a mum is 30.7 years.
This means that women who are at this age right now are at the greatest chance of falling pregnant. Of course, this isn’t the ONLY age of women having babies, but, hey, it’s what the research says so we’re sticking to it.
Anyhoo, if you’re 30 right now, you were born in 1991, correct?
So, to uncover the names of the women who are 30 this year (and thus most likely to conceive), all we had to do was track down the list of the most popular Australian baby names of 1991.
See. Science. Maths. No wizardry.
So, who will be welcoming a 2022 baby?

NOTE: We could only track down data from NSW, but, meh, good enough.Â

Um – little correction Maeve is an Irish name (from an Irish Queen) and not a colour. I haven’y heard of any kids called Mauve just yet.
